QuoteNashvilleBlues Quotebye bye johnny Updating earlier post, Wells Fargo Center ticket prices are indeed $59.50 - $399.50 Thanks. I can’t think of anyone other than The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney who charge that much for face value tickets. Am I missing someone? Recently? The Who, Eagles, Clapton and Genesis for starters.

LOL. The only time I ever saw a Stones show shortened for weather was Chicago '06 when the temperature was in the range of 7 degrees Celsius and Mick complained he "couldn't feel his feet." Opening night in DC in '94 was likewise brutally hot with a healthy dose of humidity added to the mix. They played 27 songs however.

Quotebye bye johnny QuoteTopi Just saw the pricing for Philly which may indicate US pricing across the board. No ticket prices are listed on the venue website: The guy that posted the prices above has some kind of Wells Fargo Center "Premium" membership (notice the highlighted gold lettering at the bottom)that allowed him to see the the ticket prices. He copied and pasted that pa

QuoteDiegoGlimmerStones An Harmonica solo on CYHMK would be great No, it would not. Micks honking never worked with the song. Better it be tighter with Karl and Ronnie.

Quoteironbelly Quoterbk Jumping in late on this one. Is there a valid, historical reason for issuing this show? The Stones don’t get much more generic than they did at this point in their history. Guess it was the simplest way to fulfill their contract obligations. It would appear so.

In recent years every city has gotten one rare song virtually exclusive to that show. OOT was probably intended as that one off but we’ll see.

QuoteNashvilleBlues Quoterbk I don’t care if it $25 all in I’m still not going to Slipknot. Why don’t you tell me about some more bands you don’t want to see. No one cares. There are very good acts including Willie Nelson, Santana, The Who, Rod Stewart, Cheap Trick, etc. Take it or leave it. No one is making you go.[/ Not Slipknot or Willie and The Who aren’t coming to my town this tour. I w

QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack Quoteslewan right. Looking at the tour schedule I guess they pick one place where they stay during the tour and from where they fly to the shows. Best guess is London – two shows and international airports Not sure they ever done that. Pretty sure they will just stay a few days at every city. No.

Standing, nosebleeds and lawn seats. LiveNation does this every year though it used to be $20. They gave up being in the music business ages ago and now make their money from fees and their cuts of the parking, beer and snacks - all money the bands can't touch. Presenting music is merely a means to that end and requires maximum attendees.

It reminds me of the Speedy Rewards card my wife got at the gas station where she's filled up regularly for years. It took about 5-6 years but she finally accumulated enough points for a Diet Coke at no charge.

As brilliant as "Miss You" was originally it's become the hit the restroom/buy another beer/break song in concert in recent years. It just plods and seeing Ron and Keith "taking a break," seated on the drum riser is irksome especially given the cost of tickets. They should be tearing the p-ss out of "Miss You" but these days it's filler.

I saw them about four years ago right at the time Joe Perry had to bail out because he's had heart issues or something. I realized then what a great actor Johnny Depp is. HE ACTED LIKE HE WAS PLAYING THE GUITAR for almost two hours!

I investigated being part of the on-field crowd for the Superbowl Stones performance. Basically you had to show up for multiple lengthy rehearsals and draft 6-8 friends to be with you, all of whom had to show up for rehearsals, too, in the weeks before the Superbowl. When it was done they loaded everybody onto busses, drove them up Woodward and essentially abandoned them in an unheated building a

I grew up in Ohio near the Michigan border in the early ‘70s so seeing Alice was a semi-regular occurrence. He still comes around with the same old cheesy shtick albeit with superior technology. Like KISS he is silly fun albeit with better musicianship. He’s flogging “Detroit Stories” his best album in eons. Over fifty years later he’s coming to town this fall. I bought tickets the minute, litera

They criss-crossed the American Midwest relentlessly in the '70s so you could see the J. Geils Band every six months or so - and I did, probably a dozen times then. They became part of my DNA. Living in Michigan it was easy to attend their later returns to Detroit and I hit all those too. The second night at the Fillmore in Detroit was absolutely epic. They were shaky the first night likely

$35 per LP + shipping? This is the holy grail, obviously, but I'm going to have to hear it all before I pull the trigger on this set.

I've had the set since it was new and augmented it with the Mobile Fidelity Sounds Labs, “Some Girls" and "Sticky Fingers." Factory pops and clicks were/are audible throughout all the titles but tended to dissipate after several plays. The MFSL set was good enough that I didn't find much improvement with the ABKCO SACDs issued in 2002.I rarely play anything from it but I

Consider "Love You Live" expanded to three LPs: LP One (and two in a gatefold sleeve). Side 1; same as the original Side 2; same as the original LP Two. Side 3; addition of 3-5 songs recorded live in Paris or wherever for the original release Side 4; same as the original ^^^This would complete a an approximation of a '75-'76 show THEN, IN THE SAME PACKAGE: LP T

JST's latest, "The Blues Album" is as good as Albert King's "Born Under A Bad Sign" or "King of the Blues Guitar" by Albert King. Produced by Joe Bonnamassa, yes, it's that good. Pure classic.

The Who opened their orchestra tour in my town a few years ago. Sadly, they were having a hell of a time with it much to Pete's chagrin ("This was a sh-t idea, Roger!"). The way it was explained to me; the local orchestra followed the violin and (I think viola) players that were part of the Who back up band. Together they played to a click track which Zakk would follow in his h

"The well ran dry" when they grew up and became individuals living their own lives. The best Stones music was created when they were still acting and thinking like a band. A feral, vicious band at that.

Halloween, 1971 I was a young lad and PINK FLOYD performed at the University of Toledo (Ohio) just six blocks from my house. I went. I even recorded it but the recording came out horribly. Fortunately, someone else there that night made a better recording of the show. THAT version has found its way into collectors hands over the years but is not in this cache of live shows the band has recently i

An argument could be made that the depths have been plumbed of viable material and that the ABKCO albums should simply continue to exist as the masterworks they already are.
