I'm revisiting Twin Peaks Seas 2 in which she's the piano-playing girl, and finally watching 2017 Twin Peaks to catch up on her character.
I think Alicia's gonna perform Chappell Roan's Good Luck, Babe! in her set. They're similar spirits. Chappell studied acting, is a cinephile, and in a Midwest Princess song cites "that one sex scene in Mulholland Drive," IMO David Lynch's greatest movie.

April 21, 2025 - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - DC
Wild God Tour. Watched his October 5 Copenhagen concert on utoob to decide if I wanted to spend the $149. Made the answer easy: Yes.

Nick was rather spendy, about equal to Pearl Jam this year but in much smaller venues. Here (Seattle) Nick is playing a 2300 seat theater. I've seen Nick a lot, with & without the Bad Seeds. He never disappoints. That being said, the price was definitely my upper limit.

Bob Dylan in Edinburgh (A complete sell-out. Went tonight without a ticket and bought one from a group of three people who were looking for someone to enter the venue together with the four tickets on one member’s smartphone).

Neal Francis (my doppleganger) is playing back in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall where I saw Ben Harper 20 years ago. Saturday November 23. Yeah!! (He does a great cover version of Shuggie Otis' "Strawberry Letter #23" Remember Shuggie? Johnny Otis' son.

After years of failed attempts, I made a success of booking a Glastonbury ticket today.
It will be my first (and likely last) reveling on the Pilton ground.

Just got back from a Ruf Records' 30th Anniversary Tour show:
* Samantha Fish, with Mitch Ryder on three songs
* Canned Heat, w/Bernard Allison on three songs
* Ghalia Volt

7:30 to 11:20 PM a lotta good stuff happened onstage. Anybody who can get to one of the remaining shows on this tour, I recommend it.

I first started buying Ruf Records for R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, and T-Model Ford... Mississipi Hill Country blues. Tonight I spent $100 on more Ruf cds... and directly from the label founder, who was manning the merch

My only gig for this year is Nov 25th in Dublin - thrash titans Anthrax & Kreator, supported by Testament. A real thrash fest!

With Dublin hotel prices over last year or two ever more exorbitant I've only been to two shows. Maybe my days of multiple gigs per year are over. Hopefully not.

Unless there is a clash with someone I’m more keen on catching than Chappell, that is — mind you, Glasto offers 100+ stages scattered around the expansive grounds, hosting some 4,000 acts over the weekend!

Whether I can reach a place where I hope to be by a scheduled time is another matter, though.

“4,000 acts” are all inclusive, not only music but also standup comedies, screenings, workshops, political rallies etc.

The whole event is more about missing than catching.
