Quotejamesfdouglas There's an @$$-load of vocal overdubs on this album, much of it blatant enough for a 12 year old to pick up on (yup, have been considering it over-rated for the last 24 years!) Hell, that 'sailors in Paris verse wasn't even sung in the original show - you can hear the original verse bleed through (must have been picked up by drum mics or something)!!! Awful! L

Well I like the song better than anything on their last album, even though I dislike Jagger's singing in the verses. Mostly it's because of the rich production: it's a wonder how some carefully placed horns, back vocals and a smooth lead guitar (plus some piano and acoustic guitar for a more organic feel) can add to a song's grandeur. I hope they use these kind of arrangements

Don Was segment was very interesting, let's hope he already prepared some of that stuff for the future releases (Wild Horses with string quartet?)

I have been looking for this for years... Does anyone have a 320kbps or FLAC version? Thanks.

While the latest bootleg editions of L&G have very good picture, I never really liked the sound and mix on any of them, so I would gladly embrace the potential official version if they remix it. Also, I really hope they recut the whole footage from the movie like some rumour said, 'cause L&G is a very badly directed concert, with all the close-ups (Mick's head is in frame 90%

BTW, is there a good sound quality version of this song anywhere? Not that I mind it much (in fact it kinda fits the swampy atmosphere), but it's probably one of the worst sounding Stones tracks, probably because a higher generation tape is being used...

Shame they (never?) play this live, I think it would sound good with the post-'94 Stones...

QuoteRobertJohnson A further indication that it is real: . That are the missing tracks of 11 27 69 MSG I think. Prodigal Son You Gotta Move Under My Thumb I’m Free (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction Yep, that definitely looks like the announced 5-track EP. Hopefully Gimme Shelter or some other rare track will make it somewhere as well... EDIT: I just noticed the other thread about this. S

Beside the already mentioned, Fool To Cry from 'Beautiful Girls' always stuck in my head, I think I've grown to like it more after hearing it in that movie...

I don't understand what's with all the talk about overdubbing, maybe the singing isn't perfect on original recordings but that's how live shows are and it can't be worse than on Love You Live anyway... Here's some wishful thinking: wouldn't it be amazing if in addition to the announced entire 1969 show (recorded in NY), the EP consisted of rarely played songs

Johnny Got A Boom Boom (live on Jools Holland): Have you heard about her? I've only listened to her two singles (which get a decent amount of playtime in my region) and am surprised they aren't hits yet in UK. I think she has a lot of potential: great voice, great looks, trendy retro sound and as you can see her band just smokes...

I was looking for some Dylan pictures from 1975 and found this one with Patti Smith, so I thought of this thread. I don't find her hot but this is probably the oldest Keith T-shirt I've seen: photo © 1975 by danny fields

Here's a torrent link to all Rock Band multis: I listened to multitrack Gimme Shelter for the first time today and I think it's really an amazing revelation like Mathijs said, how such a perfect song is created of so many imperfect parts. I think that's one of the problems with today's production, everything has to be so slick and clean... This kind of stuff is great

I was wondering if anyone here posted a good quality (4 Reel/Genuine Masters/Bad Wizard...) non-cropped widescreen version of Ladies and Gentlemen in divx/xvid? I used search but only found full DVDs which I can't afford to download because of my crappy connection... Thanks.

Well technically, LPs are 33 1/3 gramophone records although now they've become synonymous with all albums but I agree with the rest of your post. Those 4 albums mentioned really sound great, I also like Black'n'Blue. Also from the earlier stuff the Chess tracks (Little Red Rooster, I Can't Be Satisfied, Down The Road Apiece...) sound awesome, it's a shame all their early

Quotedrewmaster A few reactions to your post: 1) Someone who is "crazy about" sound quality, as you put it, is (by definition) not going to settle for anything less than the absolute best. In other words, "very good" is not good enough for a true audiophile. 2) My point was not that the ABKCOs remasters are a vast improvement over the original ABKCOs, it is that they are s

Quotedrewmaster QuoteBrano I'm no audio expert, but people who are (like Steve Hoffman) claim that the Virgin remasters sound pretty good and don't have much (if any) room for improvement. Anybody who says the Virgins don't have much room for improvement never listened to them on a really good system and compared them to, for example, the ABKCO remasters. Drew Like I said t

I'm no audio expert, but people who are (like Steve Hoffman) claim that the Virgin remasters sound pretty good and don't have much (if any) room for improvement. So I don't see any reason to get excited about the remastering unless they found some never before used tapes (like for Beggars Banquet) but that's highly doubtful. I'm only afraid that they don't f*ck it up

I don't hate him, but don't like him too much either. To me his biggest problem is that he looks so fake, even more than Bono (but Bono at least made better music). Most of his live performances/videos are embarassing to watch for me (especially those 80s/early 90s shows). He comes out dressed as a factory worker and starts singing with some angry righteous face grinning, then some fist

I'm sorry, I found out late about this and didn't prepare for recording. It isn't anything special anyway as most of the program a bunch of local people are talking about the Stones. There was about an hour of interesting reports from Budva, pre-show and some nice clips from the concert. It's interesting that the reporter (and some other media also) mentioned that Keith was ru

Just wanted to say to all the fans in the region that the Bosnia & Herzegovina national TV (FTV) is showing a Rolling Stones special tonight that will go on from 20h-00h. After that the Godard movie Sympathy For The Devil (or One Plus One) will be shown. Don't know what will be in the programme but it has started already and I'm off watching it.

It would be much appreciated if anyone could post this (VGP 011, fifth release) as it's supposedly the best version of this show, even better than Definitive Brussels. Not to be confused with Timeless Europe '73. Thanks
