Brian Jones' slide makes this a killer.

Note that the guitar that plays those slide like licks possibly also plays normal lead guitar.

Down Home Girl - Jerry Leiber / Artie Butler
Alvin Robinson - Red Bird 10-010 - 1964
Artie Butler kick started his song writing career
by teaming up with Leiber to pen Down Home Girl....
The Coaster recorded it some 2 years later with slightly different lyrics..
Artie Butler claims that Leiber's original lyrics carried two final verses
that were dropped at the time of recording.....Butler said part of the lyrics were
"You say you don't eat pig-meat, baby but I know that ain't for real
I seen you at the barbeque and you ate up everything but the squeal"

Yes, I always thought that Brian played lead on this...
(This could be wrong, of course)
Anyway, it´s a great track with a groovy rhythm!

I originally quoted ol' nep.
Whether Brian or Keith played the part he loves so much doesn't matter though, it's a cool part regardless of who played it.

Shame they (never?) play this live, I think it would sound good with the post-'94 Stones...
