Too bad: Matt is only some entry on page 103???
I agree with you Kalle, this album is really great!
'Anything but time`' was already a brilliant little
thing, but 'Far as I can see' is by far his best!
Finally he can show all his wide range of musical
talent, which is presented to the attentive listener
by rich and varied songs ...
And by the way, Matt Schofield himself is a really
nice guy. Ive seen him already three times, and every
time after the show he came out to the fans, talked to
the people, wrote autographs, took photos ...always
sympathetic and unsophisticated...

Occasionally, band demos somehow sound better than the finished product--or, perhaps, in the case of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell from The Wall, after 35-odd years and precious few live versions it's just refreshing to hear the works in progress. At the demo stage Comfortably Numb had the working title of "The Doctor". These demos can be found on the 2011 remasters, on disc 3 of the 3-CD "Experience Edition" of The Wall (aka the "immersion" edition).

With all the people talking here about going to see the Stones on the next concerts, I can't help to feel the same whenever I watch the videos from their 2006 concert at the Copacabana Beach. It was 8 years ago today. smileys with beer

I love this video from 199os of the spider and the fly with a charlie flourish at the end. It's so much more interesting than the original recording - a brilliant small club tune( and keith could really play the blues then)

A classic mix from the 80's. I think it's fun to hear it back again. What do you think?

I remember their Beatles medley single, which was a U.S. number 1 in 1981. Here's the long play version with additional medleys.

Evidently this Starsound medley approach was credited for creating the "medley craze" of the early 80s, which the Beach Boys soon capitalized on with a top 40 hit in mid-1981 (U.S. #12)

"Good Vibrations"
"Help Me, Rhonda"
"I Get Around"
"Little Deuce Coupe"
"Little Honda"
"Hawaii"
"409"
"Noble Surfer"
"Dance, Dance, Dance"
"Shut Down"
"Surfin' Safari"
"Barbara Ann"
"Surfin' U.S.A."
"Fun, Fun, Fun"

and the Beatles' record company Capitol-ized on in 1982 with the Beatles Movie Medley, also a number 12 U.S. single in 1982.

"Magical Mystery Tour"
"All You Need Is Love"
"You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"
"I Should Have Known Better"
"A Hard Day's Night"
"Ticket to Ride"
"Get Back"

What do I think of it? Well, interesting isn't it that medleys of the original songs by the original artists would only be top 20 singles, while disco cover versions would instead be trend-setting number 1 smash hits.... or perhaps it was just the 80s.

Thanks for that NICOS.. very cool to watch. I have a neighbor who is an engineer and works at the Navy Yard in DC. He spent probably close to 10 years building a boat in his garage and it's beautiful.

"The beauty is in the imperfection"...of course he loves the Stones. smileys with beer

Love Stevie Riks! He's a one man Beatles. Did you see the clip "Beatles Out of Work"? It's 1970 and each of the Beatles has to find a new job--but the unemployment officer is Pete Best!

Keith got trimmed up hair for the judge. If you look at Mick you can see how Keith would normally look except for having this court appearance. Which was a make or break one with the Stones really getting exiled (possibly)
