Thanks Matt,
I have read somewhere they were used as bus publicity. Is this true?

I think probably the rarest Stones UK demo in the world...Please note LONDON Logo, Made in UK, with the UK order number. I think this was pressed in extremely limited quantities, and was sent to a few US Radio Stations as the single did so well in the UK. Alas, never released in the US, probably due to the disinterest for Blues in the USA. Just my opinion, though.

This one isnt exactly falling out of the sky either...This white label, Blue print Demo, must be the export, as it contains The Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man as the B side, as does the export single

Finally, a set of original US single cards, from Not Fade Away to 19th Nervous...the cut off for the 4 digit order numbers. Paint it Black Starts with 45 LON 901.

I am sure some other IORR folk went to the Rock 'n' Roll Circus screening at the London Film Festival in (I think) 1996. It was at the Odeon west End in Leicester Square. If you were there, did you keep your popcorn bucket and drink cup.....?!

Nice.... here is the Video release press kit and the more recent DVD realease press kit. Probably the nicest item of promo clothing ever was the promo jacket for the video release. It has the artwork embroidered on the back and is ultra limited. Alas I know where it is but there are at least 10 boxes in the way of getting to it. I will post it in a few days if no one else comes forward with a pic of one.

JordiStones, I have been told the same thing about the Some Girls posters but I am not 100% sure because having been born in 75 I wasn't old enough to see them on London buses in 78.

Here is another one of the most talked about items.... the 1989 silver coin set. Please note there are two sets displayed here. The one out of the case are a rejected proof set (the heads were too small).

Dang, Matthew...that IS impressive..didnt know about the rejected heads.

Much appreciated.

I remember these two gems, John. You beated me on eBay at the last seconds (me and a Japanese).
Anyway: on London (same as your Rooster) there's HTW.
On white label (same as your Satisfaction) there's GOOMC.
If you know others please inform me.

About ROOSTER, also this demo , like the UK Decca one, indicates November 6, while all the fonts report November 13.

mattleeuk....

Do you have anything from the movie Wings Of Ash based on the life of Antonin Artaud
that Mick Jagger was working on 1978...but eventually abandoned

Also interested if anything from soundtrack has ever surfaced

Mick Jagger, as Antonin Artaud, and Marcus Reichert on the set of Wings of Ash, 1978

The Stereo sound mix is strong & clear
Great dynamic, rich full sound
Really nice stereo sound separation
(No pops, skips, or distracting surface noise).
The sound fidelity comes across superbly as in a First Pressing.
Strong bottom (bass textures)are present sound-wise.
And it may be my imagination but Jagger's voice is mixed more to the forefront on this particular pressing as opposed to his voice being somewhat muffled~more to the background in many Stones' recordings. Needless to say I was impressed.

Rockman, I am afraid I don't have any Wings of Ash stuff. I do have a bucket load of Performance stuff but it is currently on loan for a project.

I am holding back a little on all the 60's gems and a few awesome pieces but here is some Voodoo Lounge stuff to keep this thread where it should be on a Monday morning.

Odean73, The Roberts Radio was a UK Forty Licks Virgin Records Promo item. I don't know how many were made but it is not very many at all. There are four different colours and it could be as low as 30 or 40 in total. I only have the orange one. There is also pink, powder blue and I think green.

Lovely signed Litho arc-angel. Those original signature lithos are one of the few officially signed items. Gorgeous. I have have the Black and Blue one. I wish I had bought more of them.

It is easy to top my collection in certain categories. JR for example is way, way ahead in vinyl. I tend to collect best in class pieces from all formats rather than focus on just one thing. I prefer stuff that was never available for sale. Passes, press kits, promo posters, promo items, concert memorabilia, autographs, picks etc...

Happy collecting,
Matt

Thanks for that matt. I must admit my favourite brand of radio, im rather jealous ha ha

Matt,

I apologize for my ignorance. Can you explain me what is a tour itinerary? I found some on eBay and read that it's a sort of program given to the crew. Is it correct? Whatever, what's inside?

Matt, could you post the page of the VL itinerary from Washington,
August 1st, 1994, please?

It´s that "Hotel, Tel.-No., Off to the venue, back in Hotel"-stuff, right?

Btw: Would be great, because I was at that show. grinning smiley

Can somebody here post a picture of that Mexican Satanic Majesties with the red cover instead of the usual blue one?
I never saw any and love to see that artwork....

A pic of the multicoloured Let It Bleed will be great (I have the Record Collector mag with the b/w picture). Same for the Big Hits picture disc (I only saw a little pic courtesy of stone-relics).

Thanks for this great thread!!!!
