I'm sure the 'vodka drip' was a bit of a joke on The Sun's part. The newspapers specialises in sensationalism and blows most things up to be more than they actually are.

They generally DO tend to get at least, the basic facts right. Direct quotes from Ronnie's missus and friends leads me to believe there is truth in this story.

Ive read the sun this morning,about the only thing the sun prints that is true is the date lol.I take it with a pinch of salt what the sun prints.I love the phase the newspaper uses when they say a souce or a close friend says about the person involved,but in truth its the paper it self that makes all the comments up.Anyhow another day another headline

as for "friends", i feel a need for a closer definition of what "friends" they mean, and when they made these statements.
the "when" is puzzling: i don't understand what the timeframe of all this is supposed to be.
last night? just after the SAL premiere? some indeterminate time in between?
how does it fit in with Ronnie checking into rehab before Leah's wedding on june 21st,
and/or with the lunch with Rod Stewart that the Sun said (a few days ago) happened "last thursday"?
if some of you who are accustomed to deciphering the Sun can provide a coherent timeline based on this "article"
i'd be grateful, because at the moment it doesn't make much sense.

FFS - This is the Sun newspaper. As has already been said, it is a crock of shit.

She's an 18 year old girl who has probably seen it as a way to grab her 5 minutes of fame, and has stitched Ronnie up good and proper.

I love Ronnie - he's my favourite Stone and I hope he gets his act together and conquers the booze again.

Bandmates of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood including Sir Mick Jagger have begged him to seek help for his alcoholism after he went on a drunken binge with a 19-year-old Russian girl.

Wood has been at his home in Ireland for the past week with the girl, Ekaterina Ivanova, who he is said to have met in a London escort club.

According to family friends, the alcoholic guitarist is close to "rock bottom". He is drinking two bottles of vodka a day and they fear for his life.

Bandmates Mike Jagger, Keith Richards and Rod Stewart have bombarded the singer with calls urging him to get help, one said.

Meanwhile Ivanova, a cocktail waitress from Moscow, has told friends that the 61-year-old rock star is now her boyfriend.

She claimed that there was a confrontation at Wood's southwest London home with his wife Jo.

Ivanova said Jo begged her not to steal her husband, and she replied: "I am not taking him - he is leaving."

Ivanova and Woods have spent the past week at the father-of-four Wood's house in Country Kildare, Ireland, where he is building a portfolio of artwork for an exhibition in London next week.

The Russian has told friends on the social networking site Facebook that she was "falling in love".

One said Ivanova told her about the confrontation with Ronnie's wife.

She said: "She is absolutely besotted with Ronnie. Whether or not he knows it, she plans a future with him.

"She has told everyone Ronnie has left his wife for her and they are a full-on item."

But speaking from the couple's family home, Mrs Wood denied the altercation took place and said the girl was "mad".

The former model, 53, who now owns a successful range of organic beauty products, said her husband was in Ireland painting and that she knew the girl was with him.

"She is mad - she is a terrible alcoholic," she said. "I know her - she's been here. I was quite all right that she was hanging around with him.

"They have been staying in Ireland and Ronnie's art man was with them.

"Ronnie told me she was staying there and I said, 'OK - get on with it and have a drink, go mad. Drink your guts up'."

Despite their previous hard-living lifestyle, the Woods have been together 31 years and have become feted in the industry as a model of how fidelity can work.

A source close to the guitarist said last night that Woods had meet Ivanova at a seedy London club while out drinking with friends, and that she left Wood's house in Ireland last night.

"It's all connected with his drinking," she said. "Each time Ronnie falls off the wagon it gets worse and he has been on a bender for the last two weeks.

"He is drinking two bottles of vodka a day. He doesn't remember anything or know where he is. It looks like he's risking his life.

"Mick, Keith and Rod have been calling saying 'what the hell are you doing?' but nothing's getting through. Ronnie is adamant this girl is just a friend but he's not thinking rationally. His family just want him to get better and come home."

Ronnie Wood has left his wife of 23 years for an 18-year-old Russian cocktail waitress, it was claimed today.


The Rolling Stone, 61, is said to have taken Ekaterina Ivanova to his home
in Ireland, leaving his wife Jo behind at the family home in Kingston upon
Thames.

Wood, an alcoholic who is said to have 'fallen off the wagon', met her three months ago after the Leicester Square premiere of Martin Scorsese’s documentary about the Rolling Stones, Shine A Light.

Jo, 53, said she believed the pair had gone on a painting holiday together.

'They’re not boyfriend and girlfriend — not in that way.'

However, Ekaterina has been using Facebook to tell friends she and the
guitarist are having a relationship.

A friend told The Sun: 'She is absolutely besotted with Ronnie. She has told everyone Ronnie has left his wife for her and they are a full-on item.

'Ekaterina said Jo had told her she knew what was going on and begged her not to take her husband away. She claimed she told Jo, ‘ I am not taking him. He is leaving.’

A source close to Wood told the paper: 'Ronnie is not being his normal self. He is an alcoholic and he’s fallen off the wagon.

'He is drinking two bottles of vodka a day and there is no way he would be behaving like this if he was sober.

'He went out and found himself a drinking partner — that is what this girl is. He knows that his family wouldn’t tolerate him behaving like this so he has run away to go and drink himself crazy.'

Woods has a long history of alcoholism and has tried - and failed - to conquer his addiction on numerous occasions.

The musician, who has also battled cocaine addiction, first acknowledged his drink problem in June 2000, when he admitted himself to the Priory for 10 days.

After coming out, he swore he would reform and even started drinking alcohol-free beer, but within a few weeks he had relapsed.

A failed second spell in The Priory in April 2001 was followed by a two-week stay at the tough Cottonwood Clinic in Arizona a year later, where clients have included Kate Moss, Paul Gascoigne and Naomi Campbell.

Again, he vowed to stay sober, only to be seen a few weeks later on the London party circuit clearly the worse for wear.

In March 2004, he was admitted once again to The Priory after being found inebriated underneath a restaurant table. And almost exactly a year later, in March 2005, he checked into an Irish clinic after getting drunk at wife's 50th birthday party.

In 2006, after celebrating his 59th birthday party in typically riotous fashion, he checked into The Priory, in Roehampton, London, for an intense five-day drying out session.

During their marriage, Jo made no secret of her dislike of her husband's drinking habits, which is also understood to deeply upset his children Leah, 29, and Jessie, 30.

I don't think that means anything, he could have been sober just that day, or at least before the ceremony.

You can surely see if a person has been drunk for days, weeks or months.

You can't quit drinking from day to day and look completeley fresh the day after - that's not possible.

I beg to differ. He looked extremely 'unwell' outside Southwark Cathedral although not quite so unsteady on his feet as Keith. I also thought he was fairly wasted at the SAL premiere in London. Let's not be blind to the bleedin' obvious.

Sad, Sad, Sad. I have seen Ronnie up close with no makeup and his coloring is terrible. His skin is very yellow. Tells me one thing...his liver will not hold up to much more abuse. I hope this is not his time to let the bottle win.

But now it seems obvious his liver is on the verge of failing. Hope he gets better.

Ronnie Wood has allegedly left his wife for a Russian teenager.

The Rolling Stones guitarist, 61, has taken Ekaterine Ivanova, 18 - a cocktail waitress who he met while out drinking - to his luxury home in County Kildare, Ireland, and she has already bragged to friends they are a couple.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Ekaterine is absolutely besotted with Ronnie. She has told everyone Ronnie has left his wife for her and they are a full-on item. She said she went to Ronnie's house in London and met his wife Jo.

"She said Jo had told her she knew what was going on and begged her not to take her husband away. Ekaterine claimed she told Jo, 'I am not taking him. He is leaving.' She and Ronnie have been seeing each other ever since."

However, Jo - who married Ronnie in 1985 - has branded Ekaterine "mad" and claimed the pair are not having an affair.

She also claims Ronnie - who has been treated for alcoholism - has started drinking again and says she knew he was going to Ireland to have a drinking session with Ekaterine.

Jo said: "Ekaterine is mad - she is a terrible alcoholic. I know her - she's been here. She's a friend and he's a guy.

"Ronnie's been drinking heavily - maybe two bottles of vodka a day. I was quite alright that she was hanging around with him. They have been staying in Ireland and Ronnie's art man was with them.
