YEah that is just plain @#$%& sick! And man it gets me heated. I have checked all the various fan websites and there is NO mention at all of this rumor of cancer, and I am going to contact someone who works with Bowie to see if there is more on this. You know if this is just some stupid rumor that is being passed on because you are not a fan, then it is sick!

I have posted a new topic last night about his liver cancer. But it seems deleted...angry smiley
David would be in bad condition these days

You also posted that it was on yahoo news, and mentioned Sky News as well - yet didnt provide a link

Myself, HelterSkelter and others mentioned that we'd checked those sites as well as google and others and that there was nothing on those sites or anywhere on the web - you still didnt respond by providing a link to the news source.

No wonder it was deleted.

oh yes but during the night I sleep and in the morning I work. So deleting so fast is... the jury has decided without waiting.

It is here [fr.news.yahoo.com]

Not a confirmed new of course and I hope it won't

The link suggets there are rumours going round of liver cancer on blogs - but doesn't say what blogs. There are no clues or any hard evidence to back this up.
I personally think its a load of horses duberries.

Additionally, he was phenominal on Broadway as the Elephant Man, neither Jagger or Richards could even come close to that performance.

Agreed, I too saw him in The Elephant Man, a sensational performance

You obviously go to bed pretty early then because I posted my own reply around 10.30 pm or so. So youre suggesting that this story should have just been left on here for 16 hours for people to read, digest and get upset by - while waiting for you to eventually get around to explaining it or providing evidence for it?

It speaks volumes that when you did choose to post again, you were more concerned with your previous post being deleted than you were with providing a link to the story.

Anyway, you obviously dont get the point that its pretty bad form to post an internet rumour - especially one with such grave information - and pass it off as a 'fact' from a reputable news source without posting a link.

For you to whine about a 'jury' (and its one person - the site owner - no one requested the thread's deletion on here) deleting it and acting like you're the wronged party here shows you really dont get it at all. The admin of this site is perfectly within his rights to delete anything thats unsubstantiated.

.... bla bla bla

I plead everyday as lawyer against people like you, accusing without knowing, not letting people explaining themselves. Judging so fast... frightening.

You can't judge a book by the cover.

And on this board I do not think I have ever posted wrong informations or gossips. Not my taste.

I do not have to justify myself about the time I sleep. In Paris it was 11.30 pm... It was easy to see I was not connected Mr Censors.

And next time someone will just give a not confirmed information, I hope it will not be censored. Just because freedom of speech is more important than anything else especially when people write "would" and do not offend other people, or have bad intentions.

Really strange state of mind for people loving the Stones. I'm free.

The subject is Bowie, a person I appreciate a lot. Hope this net new/rumour is wrong, that's all.

I've heard nothing on that. Hope it is not true. Even the newspapers have nothing in the Entertainment section. If it was true it would be on the front page. This is incidental, but I got a couple Bowie boots in the mail this week.

is Patrick Swayze a big star in France?? I don't get the logic of first Swayze and now Bowie. Not exactly on the same plane of stardom.

Judging without knowing? I never suggested you were deliberately spreading uninformed gossip. I've no doubt you posted the info in good faith. No need to get your 'pantalons' in a twist.

However, I would suggest you address your whining about censorship to the site's admin. Not other people on here.

Seriously, How difficult is that to comprehend?

perhaps not, but If you haven't seen it you should see Donnie Darko. You'll have a new respect for Patrick Swayze. It took a lot of guts to do that role and he did it well. overall, I agree there not on the same plane but Swayze is a better actor.

I haven't heard anything about Bowie's having liver cancer either. Bloody hope it isn't true. John Coltrane died of it. He was in incredible pain in his final days.

Your thread wouldn't have been deleted if you had provided a link to the source in the first place.
You mentioned Skynews and Yahoo-news and last night I too did a search with your given information - no results.
the subject of the rumour is just too iffy to spread around the internet in a hear say manner.

to give you an example:

Love Match - Cancer and Capricorn.
Famous Couples: Diane von Furstenberg (Capricorn) and Egon von Furstenberg (Cancer); Angela Bowie (Cancer) and David Bowie (Capricorn); Tom Cruise (Cancer) and Mimi Rogers (Capricorn); Diego Luna (Capricorn) and Romolo Garai (Cancer); Kid Rock (Capricorn) and Pamela Anderson (Cancer); Jude Law (Capricorn) and Susan Hoecke (Cancer)
[astrology.about.com]

or Patrick Swayze who does have cancer is in the news on a site - mentions Bowie too just because he's a celeb.

you can see how the connection works and it would be bad if IORR was ranking high in google with spreading false rumours. it's known for more accurate news.

I believe you posted it in good faith, so don't get too upset about a deleted thread.

Mick Ronson, Bowie's "Spiders From Mars"-guitarist and friend, died of liver cancer in '92 (or was it a year later?). Could there be a mix up?
Anyway, liver cancer is nasty stuff. Survival rate is xtremely low, so I hope it's not true, 'cause I have the deepest respect for Bowie. Both as a musician and as an actor. (Best part was in "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" from '83)

He's not in Mick's or Keith's league as an actor but he tries hard.
Actually I could see Bowie taking on a whole new career as a sophisticated modern Cary Grant kind of actor. Start sending him the scripts.

Actually, I think its the other way around. Unless that was a misprint....

Bowie is actually that rare phenomena of rock, that the man can actually act. In fact that is his whole career, acting in different roles. Far more than any rock star I can think of. His roles often boarder on other worldly. The Man Who Fell to Earth is a stone cold sci fi classic. And Bowie carries the film! Roeg had an amazing eye, and captured beautifully the alienation of man from itself. The cold vacuum of capitalism and greed. Bowie was perfect. But of course he was bordering on madness. He was coked out of his mind, paranoid, into the occult, drinking his urine, only having milk and coke as his diet, and terrified of white witches who were out to capture his soul. Ok, so maybe The Man WHo Fell to Earth wasn't such a stretch! Chuckle...
And then his refined eerie vampire. Searching through the millennia for his immortal love, only to discover it was the cult of youth. Fleeting and horrible. He pulled that one off wonderfully. Who can forget how cool he looked in that strange african outfit stalking his prey in the bar as Bela Logosi is Dead is blaring out in full nihilistic horror.
Yeah, Bowie is an actor alright!

Got to agree with you there, senor Blanco. Generally. After Man Who Fell to Earth, he was brilliant in The Last Temptation of Christ and the best thing about The Prestige. The vampire film you mention is The Hunger, which he was excellent in. But ... ur ... I actually remember it more for the hot scene between Susan Sarandon and Catherine Deneuve. grinning smiley

Is it just me or did Bowie sort of rip off the Stones' "Miss You" with his 1983 #1 hit "Let's Dance" which was produced by Chic's Nile Rodgers and featured the late blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan (1954 - 1990)?

This is one of the best. All my respect for his music, his person and his career.
The only thing i do not like of DB are the fans, and that ridiculous thing that he has invented everything before it happened. He has made all styles and fashions, that's all, and he has done it very very good. But he did't create R&R, dance music, electrinic music,...........all was precviously created.
I love the man
