and Hi Heel Sneakers, Aint That Lovin You Baby, Big Boss Man, Brown Eyed Handsome Man, Got My Mojo Workin',Johnny B Goode, Little Egypt and My Babe (which like the above the Stones recorded or performed but didnt release)
Dont forget Mick's Elvis impression ('Love Me' and 'Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me') in 'Charlie is My Darling'!!
Trying to think of what songs BOTH artists officially released. The only one I can think of is Hank Snow's "I'm Movin' On"
Elvis' cover of 'My Babe' is pretty similar to the Stones' cover of 'Little baby', however. Both were penned by Willie Dixon. The Stones did cover 'My Babe' in concert in 1963 though.
BTW, the Georgia Bulldog Redcoat Band (a college marching band, for my European friends) plays "Paint It Black" many times each game. Georgia's colors are red and black.
all down the line. yeh i could see the king doing that one up real good, really! there's nothing that elvis couldn't sing... i think he would have been okay with the lyrics... maybe the 'bust another bottle yeah' would have got the colonels panties in the knot... haaa, that or sister morphine... come on big E, you LIVED it you could SING it...heh heh... (he lived it with a narcotics badge given to him by the president whoa, talkin' heroin with the prezident yes it's a problem sir...
he covered berry and little richard on that first rca album and did quite well to say the least.
his cover of "promised land" is amazing, amazing. raw and amazing. the group is pistol hot and so is he...."awwww, GET on it" he commands before singing word one... that's probably as close as we'll ever get to a 'sort of' stones cover from the big E... it's one of the very best berry covers EVER done by ANYBODY...right up there with the great versions of let it rock and oh carol etc...by my favorite band.

yeh man; he would have got right into that one; great lyrics that would have been perfect for him, eh? he would have torn it's head off...that crescendo; never break never break never break...he was a master at that kind of tension and release, and what a gorgeous amazing rock song. boy that would be THE one for me, ryan; think you done nailed it, for me anyway. since you brought it up, it's so visceral in my imagination i can almost hear him doing it...
