I mentioned earlier about how a soul ballad would have worked very well, and thats a great example of one (listen to the way the Stones performed it on the Licks tour in that vein).
would have fitted in nicely with the "from elvis in Memphis" material from early '69

thank you for the correction and setting the record straight; sorry bout dat.
still thinkin' ryanpow's 'heart of stone' suggestion would have been sooo killlerr...
oh hell yeah, schillid's suggestion of "As Tears Go By" and ryanpow's "Heart of Stone" seem like perfect suggestions.....I can totally see Elvis singing them
Im glad ya'll liked my suggestion. Yeah Gazza those licks tour vesrions were brilliant. I got to see it at the show I was at. The added horns are memphis soul!
why not Dead Flowers - or some like Seethearts Together, Brand New Car. From the famous hits of the stones, Elvis coldn't take anything, cause the image and the attitude of the band was a little different from the one he wanted to give to his audience.
The Stones could play ... Don't know which one , tell you when i'm sure Bye
How about the Rolling Stones doing a sing-along to an Elvis Presley tune ala Natalie Cole singing with her dead father, Nat King Cole?
Maybe some high-tech shenanigans... Like electronically using Elvis's vocals from a tune like "Jailhouse Rock"... so he could be singing it instead with Mick and the Stones. Or would that be in bad taste?
