Finland vs Norway? Not bad I think. Basse who scored the 2-2 goal for Norway was a pee-wee on the same team as my daughter in my home town Asker - Team Frisk.

Maybe the fix is to eliminate teams that stink. Like the Rangers and the Habs. Montreal basically fumbled their way into the #1 position in the East. They barely made it by the Bruins and lost to the 7th ranked Flyers, who are just riding a lot of luck right now. They might be like the Edmonton team that went to the Finals and lost to the Hurricanes a couple of years ago - not much depth. If Philly makes it past Pittsburgh, they'll have a lot to chew on with the Red Wings.

The Rangers don't have the depth. Shannahan makes like a ghost when it's playoffs time - he doesn't contribute. And that's why Detroit let him go. Jagr just whined the whole time.

The officiating has nothing to do with the fact that one team didn't score enough goals to win (except, of course, Brett Hull's Stanley Cup winning goal with his foot in the crease). The better team always wins (Dallas would have won anyway). That's just a fact. The Rangers don't have Messier anymore. It's gonna be a long time for the Rangers to win a Cup again.

BV, your team played very well - and ours really sucked. We have a good team (Selänne, Olli Jokinen, Mikko Koivu, etc.), and seemingly is getting just better when the Habs capitain Saku Koivu joins in, but the problem seems to be our Canadian head coach. The guy doesn't know anything about Finnish ice hockey culture, makes idiot forward lines, etc.

My team played in Halifax last night... Did quite well, too. 2-2 against Suomi Finland, who are among the top nations in the world of ice hockey. (Several Finnish hockey legends!) My team's really not an A-nation, but with some luck they're not goind to finish the World Championships last.
BTW, I think they played in the same hall as the Stones!

Huh.

I guess that wouldn't explain all those Stanley Cups the Canadiens and Leafs and Oilers won over the years eh? And then there is the Canada Cup...

That line of Nash, Heatley and Getzlaf have got skill up the ying-yang Bitch2 (cool-I get to call you bitch 'cos that's actually your handle). 17 points between 'em in three games so far in the worlds. They'll go around you or, if they feel like it they'll go through you.

Actually, Finland won 3-2 in extra-time, but nice you find the Stones connection!

NHL conference finals start Thu. It's the D's and the P's. That is,Detroit/Dallas and Pittsburgh/Philly. My humble predictions. Wings in 5 and Penguins in 6.

I'm thinking the Wings in 4. But Dallas has been a huge surprise.

I hope the Pens can smash the Flyers in 4 straight. But it will probably take 5.

There's no telling. I like your picks.

Mind you we held the current world champion Canada to 1-1 until just a few minutes before full time, and lost 2-1 which is not bad for a bunch of amateurs from Norway.

In winter the sun is up from 9am to 3pm here. In summer the sun is down from 11pm to 3am. Up north in Norway it is much simpler. It's basically dark all day and night winter time and the sun is up non-stop all summer.

5-0 at the end of the 2nd. Penguins going to the Finals if Philly continues to choke.

Red Wings are showing the Pens what maturity is.

2 more shut outs and Osgood will have his very own playoff record. The way the Pens are playing, it's very possible.
