That's right: physics: runtime of audio waves plus interference.
But they worked on that issue as they have a new system for
b-stage since (??? can't tell exactly, but at least since Charlie
doesn't need to use headphones). So at least b-stage
sound is overall better for the main part of the venue.

a new point of view keith my hero :::

I find it strange that a man who said; i will most likely die on stage .. is playing without having fun .. the concerts in werchter, nijmegen, and frankfurt were sold out for about 50% or less !! the Isle of Wight was sold out !! maybe keith is pissed that HIS band is no longer the biggest band on tour and selling out ..... could that be the lack of interrest ???

Okay, I've read all 15 pages, and I'm bleary eyed. Too bad there ISN'T a doctor in the house/on the board. But, even without doing a tally, the overwhelming majority (all but 1?) noticed something wrong with Keith. Seems very evident that most of those suggesting there is no problem were those not there. And, yeah, there ARE some nasty-ass, age-related health issues where you are more "on," or lucid on some days, and way off on others.

IMO, we'll "allow" that Keith has major arthritis in his fingers, but we're not about to let him go slipping away mentally.

I don't think anyone is saying anything as Keith-bashing; it's concern and love. Some seems more alarmist; some more in denial.

And, shoot (or, do you say "shite" around here?) I hope Doug sees that picture of the shid-oob-a-like in the IORR shirt. Too funny.

all kinds of things "could be", $tones$
it could be that he doesn't like the setlists.
it could be that he's fed up with how insatiable his public is.
it could be that he couldn't hear a goddam thing either at Frankfurt, and/or would like to know
who in the world you have to be on this planet to have your guitar plugged in when it's supposed to be.
it could be that there are things going on in his life that we don't know about.
it could be that he's not feeling well. it could be that our speculating about it is fruitless.

in any case, all kinds of blessings & well-being on Keith & all the Stones -
on with the impossible!

i doubt he is just bored or fed up with anything.
i saw a lot of times that he recognises when he misses parts or makes mistakes.
and i could see in his face that this was an embarrassing situation for him and that he would love to do it all better.

stoneswashed, i'm going to ask you the same thing i asked you on that thread about the photos from the Pirates premiere:
do you feel that repeating your opinion over and over and over on a fan board will change something?
i mean: you seem to feel compelled to convince people here you're right, but ... why?
will convincing people here improve Keith's condition or something? just curious.

Keef is a LEGEND. Warts and all. Period.

to sssoul:

it´s just so obvious that there is no more chance to deny.
some people say he didn´t play well the licks tour. i am not one of them, though i know what they mean.
i thought he was not really good last year but o.k.
but within the last year or the last 6 months it has been going down very much and quick. and i not only mean his guitar playing.

i could ask you why others on that board repeat over and over again that its just flute, bad day , whatever.

if he is going to change from this year to next year the same way he changed from last year to this year. oh shit.

that he has brain damage is 100 % sure. that he has liver damage is sure. that there is a lot of damage to mostly all cells in his body is sure.
look at his face, look at his skin and try to imagine how his liver or brain may look like.
that there is damage to his body due to his life style is out of question.

All we can talk about is, can he still enter a stage and can he still play.
And when comes the point where it´s no longer possible.
all i say is and again i have the impression most people after the frankfurt show agree with me the point may have come or be close.

i come here to talk about it cause i need to for myself.

anyway, of course nothing anyone writes on any board helpes anybody but propoably our own psyche.

to numberonestonesfan:

that is what he will always be.

Here Pete Townsends comments about aging gracefully should be highlighted:

They should not continue touring, exposing Keith as not being able playing guitar anymore or playing on a very low level.
That will give us a terrible final impression of one of the best guitar players in rock-history.
Keith going on stage as a wreck would end the history of Stones in a terrible way.

Keef's been "Brain Damaged" since the 1960's...nothing new with that public perception. It's what makes Keef Keef.

I personally felt the other night in Frankfurt when he was last to leave the stage and he sipped from his cup, lit a smoke and bantered about, that he was savoring the moment for himself as he may feel the end is nearing for him.

exactly my impression of that situation. a very sad moment for me.

After listening to the youtube clips:

The sound really is lousy. But they still create an atmosphere - but that is courtesy of drums, vocals and the brass section. Guitars are in there somewhere but really indistinct and rather incidental to the main atmospheric 'blast' that has been created by the others. Actually you can here some really badly timed, badly played guitar on PIB. Otherwise its just a mesh/mess/blur.

i.e. they can still put on a 'great show' - without much reliance on guitars.

friend of mine who was with me even suggested that the bad sound happened intentionally to hide the weak guitars in the "mesh/mess/blue" as you name it correctly. I dnt know but there is a certain logic in this!

ok what do ya wanna hear? Keiths great, his playing fine, he is on fire, he nailed it Frankfurt (and Werchter and Nijmegen), hes totally into it, hes leading the band as only he can, great licks, hes now even better than 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 years ago, he is like wine which gets better the older it gets, hes in top form, he....?????

I mean you can start your PC, open a new document and write for yourself what you wanna hear. but if that what you wanna hear truth or fiction is open for discussion, right?

no need to put people down who write their honest impressions while being at the gigs.

if yu truly believe everythings alright go to the gigs and enjoy them!

Bullshit bro!!

I can handle reviews of dodgy gigs? I've of the opinion that KR has acted like a complete plank lately.

BUT, give up on the analysis of his health! KR has ALWAYS played ropey at times. That doesn't mean he's dying, mentally ill, internal organ failure.

There's an element here that love to look at everything with doom and gloom.None of you have any idea about the state of his health.

The one that makes me laugh is Keith looks old. No shit Sherlock!!

To start....what a joy to meet our fellow IORR folks...bv,gangsta of love, open-g and our new best bud...Turd on the Run!!! And his very gracious friends!!! The Stones family is truly global!

Sound was lousy 10th row, but the crowd was awesome - many 1st timers in our section having a blast!! And the crowd singing at the end of PIB - beautiful!!!

But just one Keith impression...he looked very sick - or lost - When he knelt down at the end of the 2nd song, I was afraid for him...by the 2nd half of the show his eyes seemed clearer...we will see in Paris and Lyon.

surpisingly he didn't do that from row 1.

Why the hell he ever looks... I wouldn't care if he at least would have done some substantial guitar contribution to the concert.

(would they cancel if Blondie couldn't play guitar?)

right stoneswashed - i see you did understand that i wasn't asking you to say *again*
what you think is wrong with Keith - we all understand that already.
i was asking why you feel compelled to post the same thing over and over and over and over.
it makes you feel better - that's lovely.
