nah you are wrong ablett i dont want attention at least not here all i wanted so say is that it bores me to death to read that MR is so great every fukkin day on this board i guess there are many many great stones songs but MR is at least not a stadium song
Kinda strange how 2 people think differently about the same thing. Lukester and I were both at the Charlotte 99 show - MR blew me away and just blew to Lukester. Nothing wrong with Lukester (or anyone else) stating his opinion.
Getting personal with insults just because sommeone doesn't agree with you blows in my opinion. Let me do that - the rest of you, act right!
Somebody out there just doesnt get it...I guess you dont like the rest of Get Your Ya Yas Out, either....probably rocks to hard for you.....go listen to Abba or something...To much rocknroll.pshaw..there ISNT such a thing, if you are a Stones fan....
i do not think that you cant be a stones fan if you hate MR and i do think that all the people complaining about warhorses and sayin how awesome MR is within the same sentence are nutts cause MR is a warhorse too

You're aware that you're insulting the Holy Grail, aren't you?
To say that MR is crap, very cheesy and silly is the same as claiming that the Stones are crap, cheesy and silly.
Don't really consider it a warhorse since the last 7 times I saw the Stones it was not played. It should be played at every gig, but unfortunately for me I have missed it the last several times I have seen them. From 69-76 it would definitely be considered a warhorse but they didn't play it at all from 78-82 then only once in a while in 89-90. And sadly it wasn't really played from 94 to 98. Thankfully since 99 they have managed to play MR at about half of their shows since then.
If there is one song that defines the sound of the Stones this would be it.

I've got a VHS recording of this show (Charlotte 99). Audience taped from up top and very poor recording quality.
However, the energy of this show still comes through.
Among my favorite moments are when Mick pulls his shirt over his head and runs amok during "Out Of Control", Keith on "Memory Motel" and "You Got The Silver", the rocking version of "Some Girls", and the b-stage featuring "Route 66", "Imagination", and "Rambler".
