The thing I don't like about MR - trying to decide which version I like best.

Very frustrating.

It is a centrepiece of any show which has it (though of 6 shows I've seen - only ONCE did I get it - in 1989 when it COOKED!)

I don't think it's done nearly as well today as it was in '89/'90. Two of my faves are 7th of July & Tokyo (Cold Blue Steel).

But even though glimmer's communication skills leaves plenty to be desired, and as much as I love Rambler, I gotta say, I'm seeing a lot of 'macho brow-beating fan-copping' here. Taste is taste, folks.

(on that note, I agree w/ Monkey Man about Shelter's post-94 yawnness).

Taste is taste, and no taste is no taste

It is, but its the "a song has to be tricky to be great" or it "has to be a hit to be great" nonsense that are the most absurd arguments

gazza
again a song has not to be tricky to be a great tune
smu is pretty cheesy but for sure a great song

but the thing with MR is that fans on this board pretend
it was such a sophisticated song but in reality it is a
cheesy garage band song

that does not mean you can not like it but it is not a great tune
cause it is way to simple and it has not the fortune of smu that
is cheesy too but makes the crowd go wild (except usa)

youve talked in circles so much you're even disagreeing with yourself, now.

Seriously. Enough. It's embarrassing.

9 pages?

We have the chance to talk about, share the music of, remember, hope for the future of (choose one) the Rolling Stones.

And the discussion turns to this?

OK, here's my input: I have enjoyed MR live, and enjoy MR recorded. I like Saitama - I feel like they did more with MR than in many years. However the version I like best is on Ya Ya's.

Please take advantage of the opportunity we have here: share what you know about the Stones, and take others' info and use it as you appreciate the Stones and their music.

I'm not Irish, and anyway what is the connection with someone's nationality and being able to insult someone?

Your retorts are pretty uninspired, it has to be said....
