While I don't agree at all w/ glimmer twin 81's opinion on Midnight Rambler (it's one of my favourite all-time songs by anyone - especiall the assorted live versions over the years - including ABB tour)...


I think a lot of you people are taking a bit too much pleasure in brow-beating the guy. He's trying his best to put his point across. And he seems to use colour in his statements (magical percentages) - which I do sometimes, not to be anally factual (lord forbid this happen with some around here), but to simply communicate something.

As predicted, the same old farts read something which doesn't gel with the status quo opinion, so they "Fan Police" him by being condescending and making direct attacks on the individual.

Nice.

So what do you say to a person that tells your opinion is wrong? Or seems to be saying something on purpose to get to people. Look at the posts this clown makes and you'll see his mission is obvious.

You don't know that. I've been acused several times for the same ting. I think the trouble with forums is that a level of communication gets missed - the tone of voice. I have a very, VERY dry, Canadian sense of humor. I piss off people without meaning too, they think I do it on purpose, and I end up feeling like an @$$hole.

Looking back, I think I was 8 years old, listening to my cousin's 2 LP set, 'Hot Rocks' Live version of Midnight Rambler. That's when I became a Stones fan.

If you don't get chills when you hear the harmonica opening up the first notes of the song, then you might as well pack it in, because you ain't a true Stones fan and might as well not post ridiculous comments like this one.

MR is great every time. Why?
Because it is the Stones' own blues. They probably nail it every nite. It's pure unadulterated stones in the purest form.
