Sound Check, I love the idea of a week long event!! But I don't DO sleeping bags, not in my youth, especially NOT NOW! And Sinclair, there IS indeed a story to betold, not everything has been asked and the secret is in the connection between Keith and myself, IF there will be one! The interview could be HISTORICAL or a total BORE! I am naturally inquisitive so if I happen to find Keith in a loose, talkative mood, I can get into all sorts of off-track questions( like the release of archive material), and I am confident in my preparedness. I will do a ton of homework, but I am not a stranger to this man so it won't be foreign territory. I also have to befriend Patti because she may not love the idea of a female interviewer!

Debra,

Does this still have any life to it? Always was looking forward to it.

Indeed, were you ever able to conduct the interview? What happened?

don't ask him shit and leave him alonesmiling smiley Besides that if you ask him a bunch of questions he isn't going to give you a straight answer anyway . Just the usual show biz Horseshit. Oh I am trying to get the boys in the studio . Yeah he wants to go on the road. Been hearing that nonsense for a couple of years now . Ok I amdone ranting. Sorry about that. I had to rant about something to vent my frustration over having to dig out over 50 inches of snow we got her during the last week. Sorry guys

I am thinking of writing KR a letter. I have his address in CT.
I would say please, less warhorses, dig deeper into the catalog, stand still on stage and lay down the riffs, and some of your short sweet leads, share a mike with Mick,a lot of singing together, don't wander all over the stage as if you just got up and can't find your keys.....and right away, meet up with Mick..... and write away....

I do have his address, but I am not able to actually send a letter, too intrusive. It's not a Teen Beat thing, but the requests actually reflect the wishes of what many posters here, myself included, are hoping for if the Stones tour again.

First of all, LOUDEI, this was not cowsh**, or HORSESH** either for that matter. The reason it fell through was two-fold; I began to read piles of recent interviews that Keith had given to very experienced journalists. Some suggested that Keith was totally out of his mind drunk. Some came right out and said that although they loved Keith, he was hard to keep on course, he was all over the place, and didn't make a lot of sense. They thought the whole experience was difficult and not fun or productive. Now, if Patti were to be there, maybe it would have been different. I began to rethink my desire to do the interview.
Next came my sudden lay off from that job that kept me in contact with the folks at Westport Magazine. I guess I could have continued to pursue it but it became more difficult having lost the credentials from that job. Why on earth would I open myself up to abuse here on IORR if it were not for real?? I took enough grief and it was REAL! ( I was laid off because I worked for a non-profit Visitors Bureau and they lost a ton of state funding and jobs were slashed. This was my FIRST lay-off!) Believe it or not, I still could call my contact at Westport Magazine and see if the powers that be would still support such an article. As a freelance writer, the possibility does still exist because the publishers were very interested in my preliminary submissions...outline of potential questions, proposed length of the article, photographs needed, etc. I just wanted to clear the air on this because some of you, no doubt thought I was joking. Hey, it had me jazzed for quite awhile but now I'm not so thrilled at the prospect of doing this interview...way too much pressure to deliver with no guarentee that I'd get good material.

Mickschix, speaking for a lot of us, I'm sure, of course you were serious!

I still think you should go for it, later on, if you feel like it.
Wishing you the best with the job search...or have you found something?

Don't feel you need to justify yourself to anyone here Debra. I think it was great that you asked, even if it ended up being premature. Overall, it ended up being a good, interesting thread.

As for being teeny-bopperish - so what. Most of us here on IORR are WAY past our teenage years and if there is one thing in the world that perhaps make some of us still feel that way - then what a wonderful thing! If the grumpy old farts want to think we're silly - well let them, I don't give a shit.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

No Angee, I have not found a job yet and I look, send out resumes, make calls 7 days a week. Of course, there ARE jobs out there if you want to work for slave pay with no benefits. I have an interview next week to work for AFLAC which I can't say thrills me but with 9 weeks left of benefits, I have no choice but to take a serious look at it. Thank you for your kind wishes!
And thank you too CINDY!! You're right, that IS what the Stones do for us..return us to our youth, or at least the feelings we had as teens!! Life can really suck. I think my last day that I had real joy was my last Stones show in 2006. Sad but true!

I heard Keith likes military history and has many books in the house.

I'd like to hear Keith talk about specific topics, persons, events, etc., in that regard.

Keith wouldn't give his own son a decent interview, he's functionally retired from his personality, getting bumped on the head will do that to a guy. I think you dodged a bullet!

Sorry Debra, didn't mean to have your credibility questioned, just have always had an interest in that thread.

I don't think you should ever quit on an interview before even conducting it as you never know how it will unfold. You just might tap into a interesting topic that could lead to some unique conversation.

He's totally disgusting now. Just the thought of it...
I'd ask Patti how can she sleep with that dried up old prune.
God he must stink with the booze and cigs. Does Keith even function or does he need Viagra?
She must have something on the side. like the pool boy.

soooo stupid, you try to speak of Keith but its really speaks volumes about yourself.

Well if it was true or not it turned out to be just brain masturbation. Next time wait till is a sure thing that way it would not seem like you were just taking us for a ride. I am sure keith is a dream interview if you ask the right questions, so be careful.

IceGiant - watch your steps! I think you're already banned - under another nick.

Your comments about Keith are just appaling. He's 66! He's a mature man. But what's even better - he's an intelligent, talented, warm and generous person, well read, and he knows a lot about what's going on in the world - not just in Weston, Turks and Wittering - and about history, litterature, arts and science. And no matter how much I'd like to (I don't!!!) I'd probably have problems saying the same about certain others here. That's a riddle, btw.

Mickschix - I never even understood why you didn't just do the interview. It struck me as very unprofessional that you listened to whoever you were listening to and didn't even take the trouble of ASKING KEITH for an interview.
And you don't have to have an employer to ask for an interview. You just go ahead, write him a letter (he reads his US mail), explain that you'd like to do an interview with him and Patti together. That you hope to sell it to the local paper.
If he says yes - then just go ahead and do the best interview you can imagine the locals want to read. Then - take the interview (yes, write it out the way you'd like to read it yourself!) to that local newspaper. If you take photos yourself, it's an even better story. Their garden is a sight for Gods, btw. If I were you, I'd wait for spring and hope to take the photos of the two of them in the garden.

Many locals know and love the Richards clan and protect them from paparazzi and tabloid scum. Whenever the Richardses go out for dinner in CT, you'll never see the locals tipping the press off - or sticking their cell phone cameras up in their faces. But when a Stones fan comes in from, say NY, hoping so see Keith , you can be sure they'll bring cameras, albums to sign and generally behave like idiots. I know you're NOT one of those.

Mickschix, eep, hope you don't think I was doubting you. I wasn't around for the original post and just saw the bump yesterday and was psyched to hear about it.

I know, just from the way things unfold sometimes, that it might be tangled up somewhere.

I love Addicted's suggestion. If you want to, go for it! And just because you asked for suggestions for Qs you don't owe anyone anything. If you get the interview someday you will have made a unique addition to rnr history. A small minority here are a tad bit sexist, and are uncomfortable with anything that doesn't directly reinforce 1-dimensional macho rock and roll cliches. But many others of us wonder what life is like for Keith, in his 60s, when he's not touring. And whether people can accept it or not, it's a rather delicious myth-busting irony that Keith is not prowling around in leather pants kickin' ass in downtown Weston CT, and instead...he's well...what exactly? You may find out!
