I bought a ticket to see Girlschool on what is being billed as their "Final North American Tour." I have no idea if I'll actually use it. I don't really do general admission standing room shows in loud, hot, sweaty clubs anymore. But I might. I remember thinking their drummer was kinda cute .... 40 years ago.

Wow, didn't know they're still around! I saw them twice back in the day. 1982 triple bill Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Girlschool. 1985 with Deep Purple.

Going to The Cavern Pub, Raynes Park on Boxing Day and New Year's Day 2024 which is just put some dosh in The Jug. First ticket is His Lordship at Banquet Records shop in Kingston February 1st.

March: Julian Lage w/ band. My favorite jazz guitar guy as of late.

June: Solid Sound Festival, North Adams, MA. Wilco's uniquely curated fest with a reliably amazing list of mostly lesser known but excellent acts nestled in the Berkshires, away from all the madness. My blissful utopia.

Have a lot in '24, but I believe the first is Bruce in Syracuse in April - a makeup date.

I'm looking forward to all of these. I"ve never seen any of them live except Springsteen and, way back in 1982, Marshall Crenshaw on his debut album tour.

Total price to see Buddy Guy, Richard Thompson, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Sum 41, The Kills, Flogging Molly, Marshall Crenshaw, The Interrupters, Rancid, The Linda Lindas, Eddie 9Volt, and Band of Horses = $652

Price of one Stones pit ticket, standard price with fees, for June 11 in Philadelphia, had I bought one (and been able to) = $670 as best I can figure it. All respect to those of you who can and choose to pay it, but I think I've hit my limit, personally. I can't justify it. (I'm spoiled now for seeing the Stones from the pit when I do see them... that was new for me starting 2019.) The Stones with no Charlie. With my all-time favorite rocker of theirs, Brown Sugar, cancelled. And, with my luck, probably having to overhear for the 3rd time in a row, Billionaire Thomas Tull's Faux Blues-Rock Band as the pay-to-play openers. I'm passing.

And yet paying to see Springsteen? Yes. My pit ticket for his stadium concert is $370 all-in, not $670. I may be guilty of having complained too much about his ticket price hiking a year and a half ago. $370 for the pit for his 2hr 45min show has unexpectedly become a relative bargain, to me at least, in the top tier of the U.S.'s unprecedentedly pricey live music market.

All this is just my POV of course. Everybody who's going, I know you'll have great times at the Hackney Diamonds Tour!

N.Blues if you haven't heard Band of Horses live I recommend 'em. They opened a tour last night here in Richmond, first an acoustic set that to my not-so-acoustic-inclined tastes was good, then an intermission, then a longer electric set that was fukkin great. My first time hearing them live and I was mightily impressed.

They have a 2 night stand at the Ryman Feb 14 & 15. Almost all other stops this tour are at low ticket warnings or sold out, but Nashville with its 2 nights has good availabilty.

Just scored tickets for Hoodoo Gurus in September. Very inexpensive, $32. Saw them a year ago & they were still killer live. An old favorite for me.

Anyone try to get tix for Adele doing 8 shows in Munich in a pop up stadium (capacity 80.000)? The only shows in Europe this year.
