...The Kills in February.
Woohoo! Another great lead from checking this thread periodically. I've been wanting to see them for 4 or 5 years now. Now I'm seeing em at 9:30 Club March 1st thanks to reading your post 20 min. ago.
The new album is really great. I've been waiting to see them for a long time too. Love Allison's singing.

Saw Amyl and the Sniffers last night at the recommendation of some on this board and it was a great recommendation. They are a great band and very animated and fun to see live. Go see them if you get the chance. ...

God Games... what a tragically current title. I haven't picked it up yet but will soon. I have everything else by them and haven't been disappointed by a Kills album yet, they're an incredible band IMO. Jamie Hince needs to receive some kind of award for creatively brilliant 21st century rock guitar, and Alison Mosshart is one of the great rock n roll frontwomen, period.
Washington DC is such a good city for their kind of rock, I knew the March 1 2024 show would sell out the 1,200 capacity venue fast, and it did. It went on sale Friday a week ago and sold out Tuesday or Wednesday. I just checked and DC appears be the only city sold out so far on the whole 30-city North American tour. Lots more will sell out, I'm sure. But Sunday had I not seen your post I almost surely would have missed out. (Unless DC gets a 2nd night... which, they must be requesting one).Quote

If you haven't seen Fontaines D.C. yet, a great young Irish punk band, check them out, too, you'll probably like them.

Hey Nashville, how was the KISS concert? I'll be seeing them again in a couple weeks in Vancouver.
Admittedly not a big KISS fan, but I had a blast (first KISS show). Great entertainment. Fantastic presentation. Recommended for sure. Let me know your thoughts after the Vancouver show.

Show was great, pretty much identical to the start of their farewell tour here back in 2019. Lots of families with little kids w/faces painted!
One thing about Paul's voice. Everyone online says he's lip synching and there are vids on Youtube, but he probably yelled Vancouver over 100 times during the show so not sure how he could be. Wish they would have started the show a bit earlier. They came on around 9 and played 2 hours. I didn't get home til around 1:30am. Love them or hate them, KISS puts on a great show.

Saw John Fogerty tonight. He is so happy about owning his songs again and he had a blast playing them. Unfortunately for me, the sound was awful. I don’t know if the acoustics in the venue were bad or whoever did the sound mixing was totally inept. The guitars were mushy. The harmonica sounded out of tune. I couldn’t understand the words he was singing—and I know the lyrics to his songs. I still enjoyed the concert, but it would have been so much better with decent sound. Harrah’s Hotel/Casino in “Funner” CA. First time for me in that indoor venue. At least the parking was free and it only took me 10 minutes to drive home.
