>> a lost opportunity for exposure <<

i didn't think the main aim was "exposure" - it's like BV said about the sandwich-board advertisements.
and i haven't noticed a shortage of people starin at women's fronts -
giving 'em some kind of excuse might even be considered a kindness. :E
but maybe we could have versions with/without something on the back.

Agreed, I think those four colours look fantastic on a black background

Given Bjornulf's stated aims with respect to what's on the T-shirt (page 28 of this thread I think it was), but recognising also that a few people including myself are of the opinion that there should be something or other on the back; what about a "line" from some Stones song. Loads of people use "lines" in their IORR signatures, and some of them are absolute peaches. So what about one such immortal line from a Stones song on the back of the shirt ?

Thoughts people ?

Schillid, if you're still into alternate photos for the shirt, would you mind revealing your email address?
there are some photo candidates that would like you to see them,
but i'd need to ask the photographers first if i were going to post them in public,
and i'd rather go knocking on their doors after you say which one might suit your purposes.

paulywaul - do you remember cindy who you and beast met when you rode the bus down from NYC? she very kindly had a ring made for me with whatever line from a stones song i wanted. i picked "you get what you need". i like it because it applies to so many aspects of life, including the stones.

Yeah, have the t shirt a cherry red colour, and then the following line, written in white, with a font that looks similar to handwriting, at the bottom of the t shirt on the back:

_____________________________________________________

What's your favourite flavour?...........Cherry Red!!

Or another Suggestion. If we leave the back blank that could leave room for adventurus who want to put patches or something. I dont know just a thought

i truly don't know beans about having tshirts printed, but:
would leaving the back blank allow people who want something on the backs of their shirts
to have whatever they want printed there on their own?

Photos used inside the IORR letters:
I need to supply the originals.
I would not accept anything else,
due to copyright reasons.
I have plenty of photos to be used,
but only the ones I have can be used.

BV, Jim Pietryga says you have all of his, right? one of the ones he took in Montreal
(january 10th 2006) seems like a very good candidate to replace the shot of Keith & Ronnie
in the logo. i hope you can forward that one to Schillid - thanks.

I feel the web address would be better on the back - two IORRs so close together look clumsy. I'd like to see Rolling Stones Fanclub included, but in a single colour (with a 'u', not because it's European but because it's Right...)
Ditto the address.

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

A line from a song? Well, that couldn't be more obvious:

"IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL"

I agree with all of that, except my choices for colors would be black, then red or navy blue. Can't stand gray. Would definitely prefer the URL instead of the words "fan club." And nothing on the back.

NO! NO!

white type is usually the best choice for readability on black.
"www,iorr.org" reiterates the name in a perfect way. No, it's not unneccesary because of the computer age we live in. It's not redundant...it clarifies the message in the logo.

And a line from a song on the back? I vote for "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" in a perfect typeface. (I don't have any idea which. Anyone?)

Speaking of typface... someone mentioned that the type design for the IORR letters should be considered more. I kinda agree. Any typeface suggetions for IORR?

If anyone needs to email some alternate photos use nobody44@REMOVETHISverizon.net. Take out REMOVETHIS in the address.
As I mentioned, to prepare art this size, we need large, pics... with good contrast.

Mick: from waist up, preferably pointin' with arm.
Ronnie and Keith, playing side by side... full body
Charlie: head-on... at the drums

I'm flattered that people like it.

For a quote on the back, how about the one that says they are not a band, they are a way of life. I'm too lazy to look up the exact quote, but I think that's it. From the back of their first album.

Ah yes ..........

"Just as long as the guitar plays
Let it steal your heart away"

A fine couple of lines indeed, from Torn and Frayed on Exile 1971/2.

Keep 'em coming folks.
