Thank you so much Rockman, even the words to go with the pictures!

When was the interview published please? I've read a lot of quotes from that here and there, it was great to read it as a whole.

We must all be fantastic creatures - if we have deserved to have the very kind Rockman among us. Showering us with great photos, brilliant read - the lot. I'm just very gratefull, and overwhelmed. Thanks! We owe you a lot. You're a legend. I suggest we give you a T-shirt - "I'm Rockman from down under". And every time one of us runs into you, we owe you at least one drink. (Hope your poor liver can take it!)

Keith...Mick.........................Tarle

Mick on the mantlepiece is one of those shop displays,
a cardboard cut-out. Probably for Sticky Fingers. As
you can see, Keith hasn't even unpacked his things since
leaving England, so this must be early in the summer of 1971

I like the picture with the kid next to the guitars. I suppose that's Marlon? What a life for the kid. He probably had a great time there. (this ain't the time to biitch about parenting...)

That very last shot I always thought was from earlier on, and from Stargroves. B ecause that photo was already in the first Dalton book. The one that ends with Exile. Plus it looks like Keith is wearing a more elegant -type jacket. In Nellcote it seems like he was letting it all hang out.

Can't be him, Marlon was something like 1 or 2 years old at the time, and you can see in other photos how young he was as in this one already poted by Rockman:

Although Keith tells the story a bit differently it must have been a shock to the system when they got to LA and put on the rough tapes from Nellcote. I have heard Andy Johns and Jagger say that it was not at all hunky dory listening. There was a lot out of tune and very raw. Years ago here we discussed how much of Exile actually might have been done in LA. I recall Mathijs being involved in the discussion at the time.
Eg where were the horns actually recorded? Jim Price supposedly charted them all. Then there are all the BU vox. Also eg "Just wanna see his face" I am pretty sure was finished by Dr John and co. But the original mega jam - was that in LA too?
