Stones concerts are far to "messy" to put them out as unedited recordings. Especially these days. While some wrong notes or missed cues don't matter in a live show they would bother you on a recording. And they know that.
Maybe a reminiscence to the Beatles track 'Taxman' ?

We don't even know if this will be generic, brilliant or awful.
It's a snippet, a few seconds, ffs.
What we do know is that the drum sound is very good, the guitars are pure Stones (I hear two open G guitars) and that Mick presents a simple, but very nice melody in-between those chords.

Lots of people here who dont understand the art of songwriting - or how Mick does it. This song cant "evolve". Into what? Lovin´Cup? He is already singing the "chorus". Yes, it´s one of those songs. A two-chord verse - a bridge - then back for a chorus with the same chords. B/E. If i´m wrong - please send me my local hitman. Or someone from New Orleans. Where you sometimes can find both Samantha Fish and Sierra Ferrell. Me? I will enjoy this new record. Big sound, lots of songs to figure out.

I am overjoyed at the mere fact we are finally getting this new album. It has been such an eager wait, after all. Of course, I do hope Hackney Diamonds proves to be an utterly fantastic collection of songs, and yet, the sheer thrill of getting ‘anything’ is, alone, almost enough to fully satisfy my Stones lust!

I can't wait to hear the whole song. I really, really hope it heads off in a slightly unexpected direction, and that the vocals get double-tracked/harmonised very quickly.

Maybe Living in A Ghost Town could be on the assumed cd deluxe release, but
with the original lyrics before Sir Mick re-did them reflecting Lockdown.

I don't really see the point of counting in an intro on a studio album...and I wonder when an intro was last counted in on a Stones record ? On UC, Kimsey strangely told them to drop the intro for "All the Way Down" ;-)

This would indeed require "a new Stones era" since they haven't this done until now. But probably they'll keep the things as they were.
