That sounds like we're looking at a sort of chicken game where both the Stones and the promoters wait for the other to move

In this case it has nothing to do with the promoters. They are not the ones in a position to make a final decision. This type of situation is covered by tour insurance so there will be limited financial losses incurred on either side. It's a difficult dilemma to be facing having to postpone a major stadium tour without the ability to know when the dates can be rescheduled. Unlike what happened last summer, it's not possible to simply offer a new set of make-up dates without knowing what the situation will be like in 3 or 6 months. The most likely scenario is they will cancel the tour as it stands with new dates to be determined later, and offer refunds to those who wish and announce new dates when they are confident they can do so. This will be the same with other artists such as Pearl Jam and Billie Eilish who are also facing tour cancellations. I think we will have an announcement within a week or two so stay tuned.

There will be no North American Tour in 2020 I'm pretty sure. At least not starting in May. With a little luck it will run from July to September and the last announced dates will be the first. Remember 2019?

Just seen on the BBC news that manager of U.K. Premier League team Arsenal has tested positive for Coronavirus and that will put the rest of the U.K. top flight league playing or not playing for the rest of the season.
On a more personal note, I went to visit my dear old 93 year old Mum at her Care Home in Epsom she is in ,this afternoon.
Only able to speak to reception on intercom and could only visit for essential reasons,so basically till further notice all the 75 residents are isolated from their family and friends.
They are told they have had visitors but it must be hard to understand when you have dementia and look forward to visitors.

It is vital that everyone take precautions now. Most people are not taking even simple precautions. At the gym, I see few people washing their hands for 20 seconds. These simple precautions are needed before there are many known cases in an area. otherwise, we won’t “flatten the curve” and health systems will be overwhelmed. Everything Bjornulf has said is completely true.
Sorry, JadedFaded, I don't mean to single you out, but I feel I need to chime in just once. I don't have the time and energy to make a long post about it, but Will everybody please stop freaking out? This hysteria is ridiculous. Before I get accused of being a "science denier" or some other BS, for the record, I am a physician currently and a molecular biology scientist in a prior career. I see sick patients in the hospital and in the clinic on a daily basis. The economic impact of this journalistic and local government malpractice will be devastating and needs to stop. This thing will blow over and the news cycle will move on to the next "sky is falling" story within a month. If the Stones bow in and cancel the tour, I will be disappointed for sure, and that is an understatement. It may not be up to them, as local governments are doing stupid things and may prevent them from playing even if they wanted to. There is a systemic problem here, and it is not the Coronavirus.
CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza season. This is in the US alone.
Just use common sense, people. Because if we freaked out about the flu every year we wouldn't be able to leave the house from October to March. It would be funny how this isn't pointed out in the media if it wasn't so tragic for the thousands of people who will lose their jobs due to the economic devastation of hype and political nonsense.
In2010,60million Americansgotthe swine flu and eleven thousand nine hundred died, including 1100 children.Yet the United States stock market went straight up and nothing closed or shut down.Quote

I agree 100%, all this hype is getting out of control. US currently has around 1,300 cases, even if that number were to triple, or even increase tenfold, this is a country of 325,000,000+ inhabitants, please keep those numbers in perspective! If everyone uses common sense precautions chances of catching the virus are minimal at best here.
