I will (it's too late to stop it now), but I probably don't have common sense
The Entertainment industry will already be looking at Christmas and planning releases on an assumption that the worst of the crisis will be over. And the public may then be very receptive to making purchases.
It's a business, after all.
And meanwhile creative artists, musicians, writers, film people etc will continue to work on their projects (often in isolation anyway) knowing that their work will eventually see the light of day.
Mick and Keith are not actively creative but I am sure we know plenty of musicians who will be making creative use of their unanticipated spare time.
You never know we might see a Dylan release. These guys have home studios after all.
So, not all doom and gloom.

And we all need something to do while being "locked away".

This would be an ideal time to release a couple songs in advance to whenever an album comes out. A little goodwill out of the darkness. If I was in the music business you can’t just wait for Xmas, utterly ridiculous. During these times music means more to me, brings me alive
Word is that a new Dylan album is ready for release (recorded in LA in January/February 2020). Unconfirmed, though.Quote

I don't know about Keith, but for a man of his late seventies Mick sounds to be still rather active creatively. Writes all the time, recording a Stones album, finishing up an old re-issue, film projects, keeps his shit together in order to perform, etc.

I really don't understand where the idea comes from that people in their 70s or older should cease to be creative. There are so many counterexamples! I've certainly said it already, but Elliott Carter only exploded with creativity in his 70s and kept composing into his 104th year (and great stuff, too), Picasso kept painting almost until his last day in his 93rd year, Stravinsky, who died at 89, kept doing things almost until his death, Ernst Jünger kept writing until his end at 103, Friederike Mayröcker, who is 95, still publishes a new book every year, and so on and so forth. Not to forget Leonard Cohen, Wayne Shorter and Chuck Berry.
Health allowing, age is no barrier to creativity!Quote

That's the best news I've ever heard! Please let that be true.
LOVE & THEFT was released at the same day (minus or plus one) as 9/11 - is Bob repeating the formula here, releasing new stuff while the world is in crisis?

Does Word say whether it's originals or covers? - Great news anyway, and hopefully more than just a rumour!

Would you buy an album by a man who has a Union Jack pillow on his sofa?

Maybe the LP has been finished for a couple years but the band can't agree on the cover photo?! That COULD be it y'know. It really could. Really.

My guess (or, one of my guesses) is that the long pause since Tempest (i.e. releasing new original stuff) may also have to do with his Nobel prize in 2016.

Can you elaborate please?
