I’m still betting that the correct title for the thread is “New Stones album for 2023.”
I'm going for "New Stones greatest hits album featuring two new songs"

Maybe the title thread should be changed...
Perhaps you could open your mind to what the word "context" means...

Uuuuggggghhhhhhh. I just want a new album! 2020!!! I hope!!! All these little hints and nods are driving me crazy. It's not fun and suspenseful build up any more, it's just annoying

And can never live up to this ludicrous buildup.

Just the past 3 albums sans BAL the songs that I like the most are, I suppose, what one would expect but also some that are a bit different. The trendy songs (MAWGJ, Gunface, Saint Of Me, ABSMY?) were interesting but only one of them was an actual decent song, to my ears (Saint). Here's what caught my ears:
Love Is Strong
The Worst
Moon Is Up
Out Of Tears
Baby Break It Down
Flip The Switch
Lowdown
You Don't Have To Mean It
Too Tight
Thief In The Night
How Can I Stop
Rough Justice
Let Me Down Slow
It Won't Take Long
She Saw Me Coming
Biggest Mistake
Dangerous Beauty
Laugh I Nearly Died
Look What The Cat Dragged In
I like I Go Wild, mainly for the guitaring, and it's sleazy attitude, but it's not a very good song. I like Brand New Car and Suck On The Jugular but they sound a bit forced. The horns are nice. Blinded By Rainbows is nice but it's just kinda like warm pudding.
ASMB? is kind of interesting, as is Saint Of Me, but they don't really sound any "different" because of the production, they sound rather ordinary, really. Nothing grabs me.
Rain Fall Down is pretty damn good but... the lyrics are dismal, for the most part. This Place Is Empty, while nicely sentimental, is just The Worst 2.
I was thinking about what post-1967 album doesn't have any songs in open G on it (or more) and the only one I can come up with is EMOTIONAL RESCUE (and perhaps BLUE AND LONESOME).
There is an open G overdub on She's So Cold (playing along a few bars). It took me decades to notice it

So my guess is correct - ER doesn't have any songs in open G.
As in, the main guitar, like Brown Sugar, Start Me Up...

That is correct, although they turned SSC into an open G-song on the 81/82 tours.

So... for those griping about what does this have to do with the (supposed) new LP?
That it will most likely have at least 2 open G songs.

Some barely have any open G songs -
BEGGARS... does BB have any? I don't think it does - that's 2 without any open G songs!
LET IT BLEED has YCAGWYW
STICKY FINGERS has Brown Sugar, Sway, CYHMK and... Moonlight Mile?
EXILE has the most with Rip This Joint, Casino Boogie, Tumbling Dice, Happy, Turd On The Run, Ventilator, All Down The Line and Soul Survivor
GOATS HEAD SOUP has Silver Train and Winter (I think)
IORR has 2 with Luxury and Dance Little Sister
BLACK AND BLUE has 2 with Hand Of Fate and Crazy Mama;
SOME GIRLS as far as I've ever noticed just BFTMMR
EMOTIONAL RESCUE - none
TATTOO YOU 3 with Start Me Up, Little T&A and Worried About You (as far as I can recall at the moment)
UNDERCOVER has a few, with UOTN, Wanna Hold You, Too Tough, All The Way Down and It Must Be Hell
DIRTY WORK One Hit? Is Fight as well?
STEEL WHEELS has a few - Sad Sad Sad, Mixed Emotions, Hold On To Your Hat, Hearts For Sale, RAAHP
VOODOO has Love Is Strong, YGMR, Sparks Will Fly, I Go Wild and Baby Break It Down (I think)
BRIDGES has Lowdown and Too Tight
ABB with It Won't Take Long and Look What The Cat... I dunno about ABB that much with what they're doing.
In other words, as famous as Keith is for open G, it doesn't dominate their albums - or their singles. There are some hits, of course, with Brown Sugar, Tumbling Dice and Start Me Up being their biggest, but overall, it's not their biggest attribute.

No open G-songs on BB or LIB. YCAGWYW is open E on the album.
Winter is Mick in standard tuning.
Dirty Work: One Hit, Fight and Hold Back.

Seems to me this open G thing needs its own thread - has there ever been one? Haven't ever noticed or looked.

"We probably have 40 (tracks), and depending on the 10 we choose to finish, the character of the album will be determined. Right now it can go any way. There's some really good stuff in there, and there's a sense that making a good album is not good enough, it's got to be great" Don Was, July 2019.
We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed!!!
We could see this soon. I dunno what I'm gonna do if we don't.Quote

I think someone said that video of Mick playing harmonica to a new song last year was "Bad Luck Hideaway."
I shared that bit of misinformation that Dandy has just debunked in his post above. Sometimes it doesn't pay to share info even when people encourage you to do so.
Most recently, I heard (but didn't post on IORR) that the band was in L.A. recording on the same weekend that Mick, Ronnie, and Don Was were in London for Ronnie's screening. Now it may be they were recording in London and we find out later that bit of encouraging news (if true, Ronnie will doubtless confirm while promoting his solo gigs in November), but it's also possible people like winding others up knowing word travels fast between emails and message boards.
It's unfortunate, but as Bjornulf said, there are lots of rumors these days and few of them pan out.
