The problem here is twofold: first, there aren't any new songs one could long hearing, and second, if there were, they wouldn't play them anyway. With the last album already one and a half decades ago and only two novelties that are less than 10 years old (mind you: as of now ...), Tattoo You must count as a recent album ...

As for Slave, I guess the problem is that the cowbell intro is too similar to HTW.

I guess we're destined to head off topic.... I love Slave, but really can't see it going over well in a Stadium, just a funky-lazy jam, with not enough energy or hooks. Maybe in a smoky club, but a huge stadium..? Nah.

Anyways, back on topic, my posthumous prediction from a few pages back looks increasingly likely...

don't want to i guess. i tried several times. it's just me, not you all who love it.
but that's an example of Stones stuff I don't listen to; the 'authenticy' that rang so true on other stuff, the genuis of melding styles they aproach in an original fashion with it's own soul, is missing for me here. i like harlem shuffle, and a LOT of their soul covers, but not this one. i kmow it's not a 'cover' per se...for me, there was, and still is, Never a question of 'authenticy' with their golden period stuff and well, everything before and some stuff after for a deade. personal opionion is all. fingerprint file has more of a rockin' soulful groove i can get behind with this style stuff...

You're both right . . . a handful of people would go crazy. 90 % of the stadium audience would have no idea what they were playing. In a theatre or club would be another story.

Slave?? Why?? Lifeless KR guitar sound surely would ruin the song. One hit to the body live in Steel Wheel tour sounded anemic, and that's his toughest sound . Impossible to replicate live that feeling.

yeh i had heard the hit singles already; and stuff not on this debut,
even far back as it's release. it was anticipated and bought on release.
here's what should open the return and once again englands newest hitmakers.
it's right down the alley; short and sweet; they could do this in their sleep.
if they got it half as hot it would be miraculousy sweet.

I can't believe this is a Sticky thread again lol. They're working on it, they'll work on it again after the tour and hopefully finish it this year for a late fall 2019 or early 2020 release. Until then let's get excited for the tour starting in a little over a months time.
