Monsoon Ragoon
Ron did also not play on much of A Bigger Bang (among others)

Rough Justice
Let Me Down Slow
It Won't Be Long
Rain Fall Down
She Saw Me Coming
Biggest Mistake
Oh No, Not You Again
Look What The Cat Dragged In
Driving Too Fast

So, he played quite a lot on ABB.

that would've been a good album right there,so ronnie played on all the songs that were worthwhile.

Except for the one with the line through it...

Eh ... remove these 2
Look What The Cat Dragged In
Driving Too Fast

yes, those two are worthy of excision.

I have to disagree completely! Those two songs belongs to the best ABB-tracks. Add at least Sweet Neo Con (the album´s hidden gem) and Keith´s marvelous ballad. Better get rid of those lame and tame Jagger-songs Biggest Mistake & Let Me Down Slow. But as always, to each his own.

As usual, you're wrong. Let Me Down Slow and Biggest Mistake are fantastic songs for A BIGGER BANG, in a way a nod to side B of TATTOO YOU. Sweet Neo Con is pure shit. But you like that kind of thing so it makes sense.

hms i like your posts because i'm not a big fan of groupthink and you disagree with nearly everyone all the time.i even think you're right to an extent about dirty work, there is some mean guitar on that record, but neocon?and keith croaking out that ballad? i have to think you're just winding us up on this one.

Guitar work can't save awful bad songs on the worst Rolling Stones album in history.

Is this really a damn shame they didn't record this covers album with Bill Wyman. What a waste of a great opportunity for us a fans and I way to complete the circle. I mean Darryl is great but we all know the band is not the same without the dirty ole man. Jesus !!

I dont think Bill would have joined the Stones for that album. After the 2012-disaster I think he is no longer interested in collaborations with his ex-bandmates.

You´re always confusing Dirty Work with Between The Buttons, I guess.

Let Me Down Slow and Biggest Mistake would have fitted on an album consisting of songs like Don´t Stop, Keys To Your Love & Stealing My Heart. All mellow and poppy tunes. On a solid rocking album like ABB LMDS & BM are out of place and are disturbing the edgy overall mood.

I really love ABB - rough and edgy. I always had the impression that the band had got balls to publish this with some up-to-date elements in that production by then.

They nearly have the same amount of balls, IMHO, to issue a blues record in 2016.
I like it a lot!

What a band!

Keys To Your Love has the same soul-ish vibe, but not the Spin Doctors rip off or Don't Stop, imo.

Wrong.

Again.

The 2 ABB songs that fit perfectly on the LP are miles above those crap songs you listed - Sweet Neo Con and Oh No Not You Again would fit with those songs.

GeorgeLicks: Any idea how Blue & Lonesome is expected to sell?
Posted by: James Kirk ()
Date: October 29, 2016 20:39

Just wondering if you had any idea if Blue & Lonesome is expected to sell well?

I understand that almost no albums sell well these days, but on paper isn't this an album that should do reasonably well? It seems to me that the general public (casual fan) have wanted the Stones to do a blues album forever. Maybe the general public will give this more of a chance than the average new release from the Stones?

Not that it means much, but the cd is already in Amazon's top 10 a month before it's release date. There doesn't seem to be any major competition (at least none that I know of) on the day the cd is coming out...Any chance it opens at #1 in it's first week of release?

Just wondering if you had any idea or feeling on this one way or the other.

Thanks in advance

I think it will sell well and that it's also their last release, my gut tells me they don't have material for a new album.....I think they plan to exit as they started, with a Blues album.

I hope I am wrong....

How it's expected to sell?

How long is a piece of string?

It's excepted to sell.

But how many?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

You understand what a 20% chance of rain means? It does not mean it will rain in 20% of your area nor at all.

BLUE & LONESOME will sell. But expecting a number is as silly as predicting the score of a sporting event.
