Also interesting is that the Stones chief competitors, the boys from Liverpool, thought mono was the best way to hear their music. To my ears, mono's still the best mix regarding listening to rock'n'roll, though, I am sure there are folks who will disagree.

It depends on how the song was recorded. The earliest Beatles work has no punch in stereo, but the later stuff needs a wider range.

Some years ago this box-set was released in Japan with 17 SHM-CDs. Apart from Rock and Roll Circus, I think all those 16 records included here could fit in this new box-set, although I agree with you about how can they assemble it on 15 CDs.

The upcoming new mono box-set is listed on Amazon UK and France too, but there's no tracklistings yet.

Interesting...i think we discussed a mono box a few years ago, probably after the (at the time) rumoured Beatles vinyl box.

The link on Amazon Italy it's not working anymore and I can't remember if there was a price listed on it or not, but on the other links there's no prices yet.

Decca has had nothing to do with the band's releases for well over 25 years I think.
ABKCO is the label, worldwide.
Universal distributes.

I wonder if the mono Mixes from Aftermath onwards (esp Aftermath,Buttons,Satanic) are the original mono Mixes or just fold-downs . If it's the original Mixes it could be worth the money for some people cause the originals are very pricy. If it's fold-downs I don't go with this release.

It seems that this collection might have 15 LPs instead of 16, if it's a legit release. At least that's what it says now on Amazon France, Japan and UK.

On Amazon UK the 15 CD box-set is listed with the price of £140.99.

Besides the label name I noticed advertised bootleg box set of live stuff from the 60s. Makes me think this is also unauthorized. Boo-hoo, I was hoping it was real.

I say WOW when listening to 'She Loves Yoy', A Hard Days Night' and 'I'll get you' with The Beatles in Mono...don't know how high the grade of 'Wow-feeling' will be with Stones early Music...so I better buy it when it comes out then...
