hi,
What's wrong with the mono's DECCA original with LK nr's?
From Rolling Stones nr1 up to LIB, included "Have You Seen Your Mother Live?"
That mono nr1 is it with short or long 'TELL ME'?
Greets,

Greets,
"People would point out to me years later, 'Did you know that "Tell Me" is longer on the fade on the English version?' Quite honestly, no! 'Cause I was too busy. By the time I wasn't too busy, I really didn't care!""

Is the No Expectations mix on Singles Collection a very narrow stereo version or a mono fold down? Brian's slide is way down in the mix...

On the original Singles Collection (Not sure what it's like on the SACD releases onwards) it sounds like a fluffed fold down, as if they have too much of the side of the stereo mix which doesn't have much of Brian's slide, or perhaps it is just one side of the stereo mix.

What ever the reason, it is awful.

So, seems the albums will be released as separate albums at a later date, might hold off and just buy the UK albums minus BB and LIB.

If TSMR turns out to be the later fold down mono mix I'll just skip that too.

are they releasing the albums individually at some point as well? may be interested in that, depending on what the sound quality is like. I bought the Beatles mono vinyl box for C$229. True, the stones are at least twice as good a band, but that won't make me pay twice as much as it's close to C$500.

The studio albums later in 2017.

They won't release Stray Cats.

if i can get the box below $300, maybe christmastime....i'd pull the trigger at that point. $20 per album is reasonable.

Irix,
IMO. you can't order only the 7" sg.
If you want to have them, you have to buy
1) the mono cd set
or
2) the mono LP set.

Thanks for that. But I want to know if there is an European web site that sells it. Because this adds 143 Euros delivery charge to Switzerland...

Greets,

Yeah, maybe it's different for Switzerland because I'd have to pay €143.49. But I ordered the CDs with the singles with €58 delivery charge, and will probably get the LPs later on without the singles.

It may be a stupid question but if not legitimate mono mixes were made of BB and LIB,instead of releasing a fold down now, could the original tapes now be mixed into a legitimate MONO MIX?

IF they are using the original tapes they can make a mono mix.

I still am not convinced that BB and LIB are fold downs. There is no mention of that in the adverts or website...and I know the box set will come with a booklet explaining the mixes...so I suspect they would want the original or revamped mono mixes. We shall see!

Bill Levenson, the original mastering engineer for the mono and stereo version of Beggars Banquet, has stated openly that he got specific instructions to use a dedicated mono mix for "Sympathy For The Devil", which was put on at the end of the mastertape of the stereo mix. He was asked to fold down the rest of the songs from stereo into mono.

Do you want more proof???

Were is that quoted from? And could be one source...I am still not convinced. There could have been a full-fledged mono mix made. And if there wasn't if this team for this release had access to the original source tapes they could have made a mono new mono mix.
