I'm confused too. I always thought it was doves that cry.

Sparks Will Fly is a pretty good Stones-rocker, not worse than most of their rockers on ER, TY, Undercover. Very enjoyable song and fun to listen to. Clearly better than I Go Wild. Sparks Will Fly is more enjoyable than most Jagger- and Richards-solo-stuff. Not really a masterpiece, but it´s only R n R and I like it very much. One of the better songs on VL.

The Crap King strikes again. Shut up.

Winning Ugly, Hold Back, Fight, Back To Zero aren´t bad either.
Such a very good album, almost great indeed.

And I love the cartoon too.

You're right - they aren't bad - they're horrible. The worst. The album is a very good turd, in fact, the greatest turd ever. One giant ridiculous cartoon turd.

Infamy is one of Keith's all time weakest tracks imo.

Agree, if by weakest you mean one of his best!

Actually I don't consider it one of his best, but it's a great track nonetheless.

Bad. Awful bad. The music. The lyrics. The voice. Just everything. Awful bad.

Maybe one lost spark flew into the shark's eye. Though that means the shark was out of the water, right? If a shark hangs out of the water no wonder it ends in tears.
Take another line: "while I'm waiting for your blonde hair to turn gray..". Does blonde hair ever turn gray? Going from yellow to white, how exactly do you pass through gray? Keep on waiting, Mick.

Then it should have been "while I'm waiting for the gray roots to grow out under your blonde dyed hair". You always find a way to defend Mick, don't you DP.

"while I'm waiting for your blonde hair to turn gray.." is one of the best lines Mick has ever written.

Another one is "You fell out of the clear blue sky
To the darkness below".

This isn´t bad either (coming from the same song):
"You burst in in a blaze of light
You unzippered the dark"

If sharks can cry I'm sure the dark can be unzippered. Easily.
But speaking of Jagger solo, one unforgettable line is "the wicked lay Stones in my path and friends who are snakes in the grass". What?

Why's this thread getting so much action?
Are we getting a new solo album by MJ ?
I have never once commented on his solo albums,
but if I may offer,
I insist a new solo song be sung at the piano. Please.
xxoo

I want MICK playing, ala 'Worried About You'
How IS his piano playing lately? Do tell.
We know he's mastered harmonica, guitar, maracas,
yes we are a greedy lot.
Tickling the ivories and singing- - - - -
(edit the word 'ivories' looks like ovaries)
No shame!

How ridiculous! I bet 8 out of 10 Stones-fans would tell you that SWF is a good song. Your musical taste is so delicate, sometimes I wonder why you listen to Stones-music at all.

Isn't this thread really about Keithettes versus Mickettes? I'm not 16 anymore, that's why I'm out.

Go listen to Let's Work. You have no orbit.

Yeah, some are not capable of getting it, stick to your Dirty Work/Sleep Tonight crap, I'll take Infamy any day, over anything on that one (except Too Rude).

Closing an album with Infamy is just about the worst thing I can imagine... About Infamy there´s nothing "to get", it´s just an annoying crappy song without melody, imo. It´s so bad it makes even Shattered shine like a diamond.

What I "get" is that Infamy is a lousy song and a lousy performance by all accounts, sounding lousier than my first amateur band in their most uninspired moments - and that's quite an achievement by somelike like Keith Richards.

You can keep the Dirty Work/Sleep Tonight "crap" along with the dreadful Infamy, and I'll take anything and everything from Talk is Cheap, Main Offender, and Crosseyed Heart in exchange.
Also, I get to keep all of Keith's collaborations outside the band, and you can have Primitive Cool and the rest of Mick's solo work (Superheavy, Alfie, and Will.I.Am included).

it's a great thread,of course it's gonna wander offtrack a bit but then they all do,there is a common denominator here.
