Ireland hasnt got many shows over the years so hopefully the rumour of a Dublin show is right.

We only had them in 65, 82, 2003 and 2007. Four times!

Hungary got only 2 shows (1995, 2007) till this time, so it's time for us again!

Why would you want to be at a show indoors in summertime did you go to Hyde Park?

Stones on stage in the sunshine can't beat it.

Nate thumbs up
Absolutely loved Hyde Park but am a sucker for the O2 arena >grinning smiley<
Unless you have tickets near the front of the 02 the venue is horrible and cavernous. The upper blocks are truly a nosebleed experience. I think they will play Wembley and possibly two nights there.

On the subject of Hyde Park, the British Summertime festival have nothing announced for Friday July 7th, for some reason.
Yet, according to their Facebook page, all headliners have been announced.

Yes I have heard it, but not through what I would call 'official' channels. Maybe the rumour will be firmed up later today, I guess we all now have to stay tuned for further info ... ?

Would be a shame, but hey ... s**t happens !!

Considering they have been playing shorter tours for the past five years.... They can sail off into the sunset if they want to!

They've been perfectly able to sail off into the sunset 'if they've wanted to' since 1962, that's hardly the point - is it ?

The point is - a rumour appears to have suddenly materialized - that the intended tour of Europe 2017 is supposedly off. Someone else seems to have heard that rumour, I've done so myself, and quite possibly others on this board have by now too.

Be nice to hear from BV in due course, the purveyor of all matters RS that we have come to know and trust implicitly .....

I don't believe it. But I do believe it's strategy to hype us up. As if we need it.

I wouldn't be surprised. Big tours from U2, Guns n' Roses, Coldplay this summer.
Could be less interest in The Stones by promoters and public.
Especially because there's not much time.
All other big summer events already announced and on sale for a long time.

If the tour was really off, this would not be the reason for sure. In the past few years, there have been many "big tours" going on in Europe simultaneously - just the last year - Springsteen, Gilmour, McCartney, Black Sabbath, AC/DC were all touring Europe in June / July (among others, those are just the acts I saw last Summer). All of them having their tickets anything but cheap, all of them selling out their shows without any problem. If te Stones were to play 40 shows, yes, they might have problems filling stadiums to the last seat, but with playing something like 8-12 shows, they would sell out all gigs in minutes, some in a couple of days no matter what would they charge for the tickets.

Sabbath, Gilmour & McCartney don't play 70000+ stadiums. Unless it's a festival.
+ Stones only recently toured Europe.

U2 play 8 cities this year in Europe, so you seriously think tha G'n'R and Coldplay are the reason Rolling Stones would scrap a tour? Seriously? So they will probably wait for a year that nobody else would play stadiums in Europe. I am looking forward to seeing them in 2075 then :-)
