Blame those whistle blowers who dig in the I-net the leak and preliminary info in the early FebruaryQuote

Blame it on Monday morning grumpiness but I have the feeling the momentum of this set is already behind us while it's not even been released yet.
They should have kept this one secret till mid-April.

bonddmYou do realise that the item for €44.99 on [m.bol.com] is the DVD version; not the Blu ray one that is €42.99 on amazon.de?Quote

So, from what I read, the new Stripped documentary isn't an expanded old TV special and a lot of the material from the old special isn't in the new special. Do I have that correct?

What is the point to the bonus disc with the three songs?
DISC 3
1
Slipping Away (Paris performance)
??????????? (????)
2
Sweet Virginia (London performance)
???????????? (????????)
3
The Spider and the Fly (Amsterdam performance)
????????????????? (?????????)
Nothing extra, right? These performances are included with the video.

I never found a perfect quality recording of the Stripped TV special. They weren't sharp picture quality. I bought every DVD there was and downloaded it every time I could.

Also, the two specials released back in 1995 (1996?), one in USA and the other elsewhere, were the same special. The USA airing was edited by VH1 TV station.

Up to this point, I have kept my mouth shut for fear of being branded one of those "whiner" types-and don't get me wrong, I am happy that this stuff is being released from the vaults, but for what they charging for this set, they really can't include the missing tracks?? I mean this is so typically Stones like-just like with the release of the Sticky Fingers re-issue. Like, why are we only treated to half of the 1971 Roundhouse show which was arguably a more solid and spirited performance than Leeds show (although it was nice finally having Jumping Jack Flash and Live With Me in the Leeds set). I mean, why as fans are we continually teased and have to pay big bucks to acquire this stuff? Yes, I know I'm sounding ungrateful here, but like many who inhabit this site, I'm a long time fan who would like to have these shows COMPLETE and in great quality before I'm too senile and old to enjoy it.
I totally agree with you! It's a real drag to get these precious releases always stuffed with useless warhorses played over and over again without any emotion.
Another (partially) wasted chance...
Never satisfied? Sure!
"Whiner"? Damn right!
Absolutely- if the powers that be were really smart about this project and had to make a choice of leaving off material, why not take out some of warhorses in favor of obscurities. I mean, wasn't the idea of these special club or smaller shows to showcase these rarely played songs in the first place?

Looking at the back cover of the blu ray on Amazon, the text actually says it is an extended and re-edited version. So it looks like my Facebook group was wrong.

If I read correctly the two songs from May 27 ("Dead Flowers & "Shine A Light") have been removed from the new version of the "Stripped TV" program!?

I translated the page in English last week right in this thread. It's amazing to me how people don't read previous messages...

Nothing exclusive as such. Same performances and same sound mixes as what already appears on the films. The only thing that makes it 'special' is that it appears on an audio-disc. Big deal.
