Keith closes his interview with BBC's Jo Whiley with new album talk:
"Stones are working on one, yeah, at the moment..as we speak. We cut a few new things and we're going in again later this year."

When was the interview recorded? Still assuming the Fall unless one of our trusted sources says differently

The site has July 20th, so late-mid July appears to be the time of the said interview.

The link to the BBC interview - with Keith's comments - is posted above.
Might want to give a listen and draw your own conclusions, yo.

"...lateR this year" does not mean "...LATE this year" per se.
'Later this year' might be 'tomorrow'...

'Later this year' might be 'tomorrow'...
In England, 'later this year'would mean the October to December period.
If it was earlier than that you would use words like 'soon, next month, shortly, later this summer' etc.

True, but as the interview was carried out THIS MONTH, it would imply towards THE END of 2016.
Maybe its going to be some further recording in between the already confirmed October concerts in the US ?

There's another interview with KR in the new edition of the Radio Times to promote the Julian Temple programme.

There's another interview with KR in the new edition of the Radio Times to promote the Julian Temple programme. The interview seems to have taken place around June at the Dorchester Hotel in London (he mentions the forthcoming EU vote) Most of it is the usual stuff but he does mention the stones had been practising at Mark Knopflers studio.
I quite liked the last answer of the interview where he talks about getting older...I've typed it below word for word how it's printed-
Why does he think the Rolling Stones have lasted longer than other bands?
'Well they're not really bands,' he says 'They're groups. We're a band. And a real band sticks until it dies! These bands, they become big , but they're generational. Just for one decade. They literally go when the testosterone goes....I mean we work hard, no one takes it for granted. We're still looking to make our best record and put on our best show. The Stones have managed to be part of life without being passe'
'Also what else are you going to do? I'm here, on the other end, and I'm looking at life from here....this is what happens. It'll happen to you, it'll happen to everybody that's going to read this. Life changes as you go along, and the thing is it never stops. You never grow up, you just learn a little more. I ain't getting old, I'm evolving'
