If they actually want to fill the raceway, Rascle Flats is definitely not the band to help with ticket sales. Again, have 2 to 3 other bands play before the Stones, and make a day out of it. Why open the gates at 1pm?????
in all fairness, the best way to drive sales with a support band is to find one that appeals partially to a different demographic; adding another rock act with 'older' appeal (say Neil Young) would probably not sell any more additional tix than Rascall Flatts would because chances are, most NY fans are probably already going. What you might see happening here is a lot of older folks who are going will now take their kids cos they want to see RF...I'm sure that was the reason for Ed Sheeran
Country is a big deal in Indiana so there is some logic...but I would have preferred just about any other country act...I'm not his biggest fan but Keith Urban would have been a lot better; he loves the Stones, pulls in a younger (and largely female) audience and guested with them in LA in 13 (and played some smoking guitar on "Respectable"
Personally this is horrible for me, but I do understand it for a moving more tix perspective
That's the thing. Country music fans hate RF. They are pop, and bad pop. The Stones management have screwed up big time. So many other acts they could have pulled.

Hi
Thanks for the advices.
Actually we are arriving by bus from Chicago at midday. The day before from Malmö/Sweden.
Renting a car on the 5th for a couple days to go Detroit for the second and last Stones show on this tour. Maybe Argentina later this year!
Understand it will be hotter in Indianapolis on the 4th than Malmö today + 11 C.
Really looking forward!

I wonder how much input the Stones have for choosing the openers? With this
latest choice it seems none. My guess is the promoter has total control. I guess
we're lucky they didn't chose Justin Bieber!

I thought What Hurts The Most was a great song when I heard it on the radio in 6th grade.... I haven't heard/heard of a song by them since

They suck ass plain and simple. So wrong for the Stones. If one of them dares to appear on stage with them I fear for their lives.

I would be open to someone else, but he is certainly talented and carries a lot of weight in the country world. He is a big time star.

Is there a guy named Rascal Flatts? I thought it was the name of the whole group.

Not Rascall Flatts. If they do that version of "Life is a Highway", I may miss the main act.

We don't when you were in 6th grade. 2 years ago or 15 years ago.

They play that song at every show. It's their definitive warhorse.
Most people will think it's catchy, and I don't see what's so horrible about it.
