Mick Taylor - The Stumble
I hope he'll do some dates with John Mayall during his 2015 tour

Enjoyed that. When was it recorded?

Mid-nineties, I think - he's playing with Black Cat Bone, a German blues band.

I've got two shows from 1975.
They are brilliant.

1975-04-30 St Etienne France
1975-05-05 Rosengarten Mannheim WestGermany

Do they have a decent audio quality, because the Göteborg one is unlistenable?

Many thanks mtaylor, Pep and Smokey!

A first quick impression: both Mannheim and St. Etienne are better than the Manchester concert (which is in excellent audio).

Can't say anything about Stockholm because of not being able to download from Dime.

Bonjour!

I'm after making a compilation as good as i can so thought I'd branch this out to those more knowlegable

In terms of both performance and audio quality - what are the best 3 versions of each song Mick Taylor played live with the Stones since he first came back (sadly not for good)?

Sway
CYHMK
Slippin Away
Midnight Rambler
Silver Train
Streets of Love
Satisfaction
Love in Vain (played just once in a tiny club i think? would love to hear this!)

Many Thanks!

I'd pass on Slippin' Away and Streets Of Love, and no recording of the Echoplex Love In Vain has surfaced so far. Perhaps the show was filmed for future release, though?

Sway: only played three times with MT. I think his solo on the Chicago version is the best of the bunch.

CYHMK: Glastonbury is proshot, and to me the best version they did with him anyway. Lots of people prefer the first one in Los Angeles (May 20th), though.

Rambler: performance wise I would go for Shanghai, Waldbuhne or Roskilde. Not sure about the quality of the recordings but I reckon Shanghai is probably the best all-rounder. I'm quite fond of the second Anaheim show (May 18th) as well.

Silver Train: Tokyo is the better performance. Brisbane is a trainwreck, but MT's solo is quite good.

Satisfaction: I like the notorious widdling version in Chicago (May 31st). The one where Keith gives him the nod to solo for a bit is San Jose.

Yeah thats pretty much where I'm at in general, love the Glastonbury CYHMK. Fav Rambler is TOUGH but I'd maybe go with Shanghai, amazing version

Yeah i know what you mean with SOL but Slippin away had some nice little licks, after the best qual versions.

That little solo in Satisfaction from San Jose that MT took brought a great reaction from the crowd. The next show KR played a solid solo also. After that it seemed to revert to auto pilot...

The only videos I could find of the show have him playing on Walking On Sunset - he sounds pretty good for quite a long layoff:

For those who can't see the link:

Longer, clearer version of Walking On Sunset. According to Nico's site (nzentgraf.de), Taylor played only this song.

There is also this close-up version of the beginning.

Looks like Taylor is explaining piano chords.

Cool photos pepganzo! Thanks man, never seen them before. I'm guessing a sweet Les Paul in that case.

What the heck is the deal with Taylors shoes in that last picture Dancelittlesister quoted? Before my time but was that a popular style for guys or was Taylor just taking a nod from Mick and Keith about androgyny?

Those are some very interesting platform shoe/sandals he's wearing.

The one in the middle? A Colorsound octivider I think

A least he's using an Auto-wah. When you listen to Taylor's short solo on "Whiter Shade of Pale" you clearly hear the effect alters in response to the volume of the input signal.

Besides the recent guest spots in 2012 and 2013 and the Kansas City show on December 14, 1981, it would probably be the October 13, 1973 show in Berlin.

Kleermakers channel on YouTube has some excellent stuff from that tour if you haven't heard it yet. I think it is fantastic.

That's him doing that with a normal wah.

Effects he used on the album are Colorsound wow-fuzz, Colorsound octivider and leslie controller which controls speed of a leslie speaker.
