Harlem Shuffle anyone? Could have been included on ANY Stones album without making the album poorer, imo.

Well that's setting the bar pretty low, isn't it?

No

And yet it raised Dirty Work to a solid 2 star album!

Come on! You just love hating that album. 4 good out of 10 (a kind estimate) makes at least a solid 3...

With every other album they've done a 6 or higher it makes it a very difficult album to go to whether you give it a 2 or 3.

To address your point, yes, I love hating that album...it humanizes them...even they can have a bad effort, and bounce back.

I love it when you turn serious, if only for a minute smiling smiley

Yes, it humanizes him.

you b*st*rds!

I adore Black n Blue it's a bedroom album winking smiley I guess if pushed Dirty Work because Jagger allegedly was more concerned with his solo record. Otherwise it's Got Live If You Want It

Emotional Rescue. Most of the guitar tone is strictly period, yet it's not dated like DW and UC. Kind of odd really. Couple of classic Stones tracks, no "Winning Uglys" and an underrated Keith ballad.

It's obvious; this 4 page thread does not mention ONE album before 70's. there are about 8-9 classic Stonesalbums that are ignored and not even rated at all. I think this is my new mission.

There are several votes for Between the Buttons (including mine), and at least one for Aftermath...

indeed, i voted for Between the Buttons. And I would vote for Rolling Stones, Now! as highly underrated too.

For me it´s Bridges 2 Babylon.
IMO it is because many songs are not catchy listening to it only once or twice and many songs are too experimentell and "modern" for listeners who stopped enjoying new listening experiences after 1972 ;-)

Beggar's Banquet. Also Between The Buttons.

On the other hand those are my two favorite Rolling Stones albums...so I'm biased.

UNDERCOVER
BLACK AND BLUE

Did I already say that?

Well...the first question is what are the top rated albums for those to be considered under-rated:

I'm going to consider the top 5 to be LIB, SF, EOMS, SG, & TY. (some may include BB...but I don't consider that under-rated regardless).

So the most underrated album in my opinion is:

None

BB, GHS, IORR, B&B, ER, Undercover, DW, SW, VL, B2B, ABB...nothing really distinguishes themselves from the above Top 5.

If I have to pick one, it would be STEEL WHEELS...lots of fillers but you can't argue with Terrifying, Rock And A Hard Place, Can't Be Seen, Almost Hear You Sight and Slipping Away...LOVE THOSE SONGS!

After Undercover, Bridges very well could be my number-two nominee. I'm very fond of it, but so many Stones' fans dismiss anything made after Tattoo You it's hard to find fans who feel likewise. "Saint of Me" is the great lost Stones single.

The posts that mentioned A Bigger Bang were also on to something, at least in my opinion.

The Brian Jones-era Stones were superb and I would say most of the albums from that era are underrated by modern day Stones fans.
