Harlem Shuffle anyone? Could have been included on ANY Stones album without making the album poorer, imo.
Well that's setting the bar pretty low, isn't it?
No
And yet it raised Dirty Work to a solid 2 star album!
Come on! You just love hating that album. 4 good out of 10 (a kind estimate) makes at least a solid 3...
With every other album they've done a 6 or higher it makes it a very difficult album to go to whether you give it a 2 or 3.
To address your point, yes, I love hating that album...it humanizes them...even they can have a bad effort, and bounce back.
I love it when you turn serious, if only for a minute
Yes, it humanizes him.

I don't need him humanized. He's like a funny box. You press the button and
out comes a joke!

It's obvious; this 4 page thread does not mention ONE album before 70's. there are about 8-9 classic Stonesalbums that are ignored and not even rated at all. I think this is my new mission.

There are several votes for Between the Buttons (including mine), and at least one for Aftermath...

<<I would vote for Rolling Stones, Now! as highly underrated too.>>
That one is not underrated, just undermentioned.

Emotional Rescue. Most of the guitar tone is strictly period, yet it's not dated like DW and UC. Kind of odd really. Couple of classic Stones tracks, no "Winning Uglys" and an underrated Keith ballad.

For me it´s Bridges 2 Babylon.
IMO it is because many songs are not catchy listening to it only once or twice and many songs are too experimentell and "modern" for listeners who stopped enjoying new listening experiences after 1972 ;-)
