OK, I'm honest: I really just was hoping for more Songs with Taylor ... and, yes, I didn't attend the Show, but thats not the point! It's the fact that matters for me and the hope for a live release!

But what I think is that what's boring is not being there watching the concert.

yup - I think, that's what's it all counts up after all.

It's simply a wonder that this band is still alive and working.

So I don't find any reason to complain, but I'm 100% all sheer JOY and I'm happy, that I can witness all of this still in 2014.

(How strong will am I going at 70??? ... and how strong will you be going then, huh?)

To me, it's just seems at some point, personal ambition or desire would kick in and you'd play (at least somewhat) what you wanted, whether it's new/old/MT/60s/70s/80s/covers/blues, etc. I think they've gone too far in the showman direction. Even Elvis, the ultimate Vegas act, played a lot of different songs during his sets.

I'm sure they will mix in a lot of different songs, as well as the old favorites, just like they did on the last tour. (YES, they did!) Plenty of time for Silver Train to make an appearance. smiling smiley

Fingers crossed for a longer set list with a few surprises as the tour rolls on.
Like some have pointed out, it is their first ever show in the UAE and also the first night of the tour so it makes sense to play it safe.

I will however be disappointed if we get that show 5 times in a row when I follow them around Australia!

If I were seeing the Stones for the first time I would be glad to hear a similar setlist to Abu Dhabi. I doubt many of the locals, seeing the Stones live for the first time, thought the setlist sucked. I suspect there will be a few suprises in Japan though. For me I am just thrilled that the Stones are still touring.

For anyone really still wondering.. the picture is the facts

Pyro From The Roof sounds like it could be a great song title. I think the best "new" thing on this leg is no guest artists. Still not using Mick Taylor enough in my opinion.

I'll just chime in one more and final time. First off, I'm certainly no 'hater' - again, I'll be going to China from the States to see them, for my 30th time. I LOVE the Stones. And I'm certainly psyched they are still out on the road and rocking like no one else can. It's an argument with no end or no final answer, but I'll add myself to the list of folks that think it's a missed opportunity for them not to be playing more rarities, chestnuts, whatever you want to call them (we all have our list - I'd put Time Waits for No One high on mine). You'd think THEY would get a bit tired playing the same old ones - it just stikes me as a bit lazy, and a bit pandering. And after getting some great ones in rehearsals, this opener is just a downer - on paper (screen?) anyways. I'm sure they WILL mix it up SOME as they get into it. They shouldn't underestimate their audience. Not to bring up the whole 'Bruce' thing again, but I will - there's a guy who plays 20 different songs from night to night or whatever it it - and no one leaves those shows unhappy. No one here expects that, but really this opening night set list sounds about as 'same old' as you can come up with. Anyways, roll on Macau - can't wait.

I think there were some no guest shows in US 2013.
And I don't hope any guests, but some Japanese expect Katy Perry might be a guest in Tokyo.
She has a show on March 2nd near Tokyo.

Seen my favorite band one more time.
Would hope Mick T would be turned loose.

I am severely disappointed that they did not bring Brian Jones back from the dead for this leg of the tour, this would have definitely pleased everyone....Oh well maybe the next leg....Keep On Rolling !!! To those of you who were there - KICK ASS !!!

Jesus... it's the year 2014, the Rolling Stones are in their 53rd year of existence, all but one in their 70s, rocking out like they always did, playing in places they never did before and here you got people moaning that they play too many Gimme Shelters, JJ Flashs and Miss Yous.. I mean, seriously..??
I would also love them to play Let it Loose in my favourite pub on my birthday but.. Come on, let's be excited, let's sing along and let's have a blast!

+1 thumbs up
