It resonates with me as a title for a Keith album -
some hearts see things a little differently,
and are a bit quirky and different themselves

yeah i hear that. its making sense to me now.
i have always thought of Keith's songs that way. sometimes at first i don't see it (hear it) but then, over time, it gets into you. its like a puzzle, and once the pieces fit your hooked for life..

Am I the only one who remembers Paul Westerberg's "Dyslexic Heart"? He flogs the metaphor for all it's worth.

lots on this thread from people who don't post many times in ten years, its like people are coming out for Keith solo.
Maybe it is nice to have something different from doom and gloom, and miss you, after all this time. i mean with one more shot, Mick did not even try to make that number work live because he did not write it. but for me its a far more Stonesy track and better once you hear it a few times than doom ..

Westerberg:

You shoot me glances and they're so hard to read
I misconstrue what you mean
Slip me a napkin and now that you start
Is this your name or a doctor's eye chart?

I try and comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart
I ain't dying to offend you, I got a dyslexic heart

Thanks for the book, now my table is ready
Is this a library or bar?
Between the covers I thought you were ready
A half-angel, half-tart

Do I read you correctly, lead me directly
Help me with this part
Do I hate you? Do I date you?
Do I got a dyslexic Heart?

You keep swayin', what are you sayin'?
Thinking 'bout stayin'?
Or are you just playing, making passes
Well, my heart could use some glasses

dyslexia is very different from being cross-eyed actually. dyslexia makes it hard to relate in some ways (usually verbally) but often entails super powers in others (visual memory and creation, making connections between seemingly unrelated things.) a dyslexic heart would have trouble understanding what is being said to it (see the lyrics to westerberg's song) a cross-eyed heart, on the other hand, indicates something more fundamentally wrong/odd/off.

In light of that i wonder if this Crosseyed Heart is about MJ.

I am so very excited about this album coming out, hallelujah indeed! My internet has been down for two days or I would have voiced my excitement sooner! Hopefully Keith will at least play a few live shows to promote the album.

Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind...

No, it's a fairly well known song -- and a very good one at that! Westerberg had 2 songs on the Singles soundtrack. The other one was also very good, 'Waiting For Somebody'

I hope so, too!

That's amazing to me . that peoples paths cross like that. had i not gone on iorr i would not have even thought to much about the 17th dec 92'. but its funny you saw them (as i did ) for the first time urban jungle, then keith solo 17th dec , then this thread. its a small world and lots of you have come out of the woodwork so to speak because i asked if any body seen Keith at the TAC club. that's 4 of us so far..

Discovering IORR was great! Was so good to find fellow stones addicts....none of my friends are into them (a few are casual fans but their eyes start glazing over when I start talking about the stones...). I don't get to post as much as I'd like - and recently haven't been able to come on here at all due to a load of real life stuff going on, but it's cool chatting with other fans.

Looking forward to hearing the album - and hopefully a few shows!

Well, a new Keith album...I, like most of you own the previous ones and I'm hoping this one is a little different, and by that I mean I'm hoping this one won't have too many songs with yet another re-working of those 5 string suspended chord riffs...he's mined that mine to the limit and whilst it produced a few decent solo songs, there are many that can be assigned to the dustbin.

I'm hoping for some country songs, maybe even a few covers, a sprinkling of acoustic blues...reggae if it's a cover but I'll pass on new songs from both reggae and rock.

I'll download it before commiting any money to it, if I like it, I'll buy it, if not all's well.

Yeah i bore the hell out of my wife, children, mate's and anyone else who will listen. They kind of glaze over with a vacant expression when i talk about the stones, which is quite often.

So its nice to bore you lot instead lol.
I will have to back off though because this is too addictive, hopefully it wears off over time. think i have said it all already now.
Back to real life as you say MarthaTuesday.

It's obvious that Keith is more about the music, perhaps part of the response to this album coming out. With Keith's albums you know you're going to hear something; with Mick's, you know you're going to get something. There's a big difference.

Mick is about the money, what's musically trending and making the Stones sound hopelessly behind that trend, which usually sucks anyway, and money. Did I mention money? Maybe fame.

Nah, money.

he sticks to the rolling stones

Anyone hear anything about a 7" vinyl release with the new single. I assume there would be one and not just a download.

I really dislike the title "Crosseyed Heart".

Why?!

To me it sounds more like a Neil Young album. I thought "Talk is Cheap" was great title, it had the put up or shut up attitude. Main Offender I thought that title was to pretentious.

Wouldn't it probably just be put up on YouTube on his channel? I mean obviously not the whole album, but don't artists often put one song from an album on their YouTube to kind of give the fans a taste?

Would Keith and Steve Jordan have played all the bass in Charley Drayton's absence? Charley is a full time member of a band in Australia called Cold Chisel which I assume prevented his involvement. Would be cool to see him back for some live dates, though, making it a real Winos reunion.

I just pray for some more Winos versions of Gimme Shelter!

Apparently Drayton and Jordan had a falling out. Seems like they won't play together.

Some people here are giving too much credibility to this Westerberg person. Keith has too much class to borrow a title from him. In reality, he stole the title from "Cockeyed Optimist" in Roger and Hammerstein's "South Pacific".
