Robbed Blind is a very Nice song.

first of all: it is a SONG (in contrast to the stuff discussed before (Substantial Damage etc))

..and so Trouble, Amnesia and SD aren't SONGS?!!! eye rolling smiley

It's just in fashion to say that latter-day Stones songs or Keith songs aren't «finished».

I wondered what they said about Mannish Boy, Shake Your Hips and Prodigal Son back in the day? eye rolling smiley

Teddy: I thought Prince stash died a year or so ago ?? He was in charge of the money at least the book said so and also stash wrote a critical autobiography before he died that might shed some light. But it seems to me that there are 2things going on a theft of money and a theft of heart.

Stash is not dead. Prince Rupert is.

There was also someone who lived in some sort of guesthouse scenario on Keith's Connecticut property
whose main job was apparently to hold stuff. There was an article about Patti and the girls in some fashion magazine
when Little T&A were about 8 and 10, and one of them adorably peeped:
"That's where So&So lives! He keeps stuff that Daddy can't have at home! Daddy visits him every day!"
I don't remember the fellow's name. Definitely not Stash. Anyway I'm hoping the lyrics are not strictly autobiographical.

Unless it's about Alan Klein, that is :E

Would that be Roy Martin, who's credited with logistics on the Wingless Angels? Rob Fraboni mentions him also in the "You Win Again" story :

Quote

You Win Again’s Unsung Hero
Then, this one particular night, everybody played for just a little bit – for half-an-hour or 40 minutes. The guy that used to take care of Keith’s dad, Roy Martin, who lives in the gatehouse at Keith’s house, is a great chef coming from his maritime days, from being on ships and various things. Frequently, he would cook dinner. He cooked dinner that night and we all ate. He prepared this incredibly great dinner. I always kiddingly, but seriously, give him credit for You Win Again because I said, “You cooked such a good meal that we got that take.”

LoFL: I guess this is it, but I like the way I remembered it better.
It's from August 2002, when the girls were 16 and 17:

"Another house is inhabited by Roy, a man Theodora describes as 'my dad's best friend. And he's kind of, he keeps the money in his house or something like that.'"

I reserve the term "brilliant" for Losing My Touch, but Robbed Blind is very, very pleasurable indeed. His voice and how he uses it is wonderful. He should give Mick some lessons or friendly advice how to sing a ballad the right way.

Crosseyed heart is now #9 on amazon's rock charts: [www.amazon.com] and #15 overall (for Cds&vinyl).

Now #8 and #14 (plus #13 for pop)

"Keith Richards new solo album 'Crosseyed Heart' is now in the top 10 of Amazon's rock charts!"

Howard Stern digs "Substantial Damage"; he listens to it non stop. It'd be great if Keith stops by the sirius/xm station and he finally would talk with Howard.

Agreed, but still not as fashionable as when one has nothing specific to criticize so then resorts to "it's Stones by numbers". I see that irritating line in almost every Track Talk.

LOL. I think the unfinished opinions are somewhat valid for Substantial Damage, it's just the way some people choose to qualify songs that don't have typical structure and are more like jams. I wouldn't be so discourteous as to suggest anyone who was speaking their opinions was doing so to be fashionable. eye rolling smiley

There are plenty of catch phrases used on IORR that have become common and although I may not like them or agree, they tend to convey what someone means without a slurry or words and lengthy explanation. Some examples are "filler", "Vegas era" and of course "Stones by Numbers". We all know what people mean here.

Mick wrote Keith's platonic female friend harmless songs and possibly letters. Keith has a suspicious nature. This has been going on a long time. They get jealous over each others friends and they tease each other. It inspires songs. Nothing to do with money, except it rhymes with honey.
