Thanks for the links, Mel Belli. Great photo in the LA Times.

Now comes a piece in the LA Times. Keith's Captain America tee in frequent use lately:

That is a good piece. Very moving when Keith mentioned his son.

Comparing himself to Dylan is classic.

One question: do you think this is true?

"Richards' raspy voice and signature hook-heavy guitar work are front and center on "Crosseyed Heart."

I know that "hook" can be defined in different ways but one description I read recently seems to be close, at least:

a catchy combination of melody, lyrics and rhythm that stays in the listener's head

Do the four tracks thus far released from Keith's record contain any "hooks"? Keith has of course written tons of classic hooks (but not I would maintain for decades.) I just don't hear any on what I've heard from CROSSEYED HEART yet.

Could be I'm wrong or it could be lazy journalism since Keith is justifiably known for creating memorable hooks many years ago.

Trouble is hook-heavy. Too much so, for some.

Disappointed that I cannot pre-order from Keith's site; I live in the UK, and will have to do with amazon.co.uk

Only in "Trouble," as Turner just reminded me. I don't hear them in the other three tracks. Some great swampy grooves, but nothing as "memorable" as a hook. I don't think this means they're good or bad, was just wondering if people thought what the LA Times reporter had written was accurate.

Yes only in Trouble so far for me. And considering I don't really like the hook it's a bit of a problem. Listened to the tune a few times trying to figure out the structure and I can still sing the chorus at will. Get outta my head Keith! lol

So I go to Amazon to buy Keith's new cd and I was shocked to notice that the album was already #6 on the overall music sales chart. In the past I've noticed when an album is this high on the Amazon chart the album usually debuts pretty high on Billboard.

Is there any chance this album debuts in the top 10? That would really piss Mick off lol

Amazon is not a great indication for the main Billboard 200, just look at this week's chart:

The Sword
Billboard 200: #30
Top Internet Albums: #4

Faith No More
Billboard 200: #127
Top Internet Albums: #5

Wilco
Billboard 200: #105
Top Internet Albums: #7

Keith could hit the #1 or #2 spot on Amazon and that translates to a #20 or #25 spot on the main chart. The Itunes chart is way more important than Amazon.

And about the Top 10 debut, the sales should be 27-30k to get a chance.
Sticky Fingers went to #5 with 36,000 a couple of months ago.

Too few plants, demand surge, backorders

it has happened to me lately, this might be the reason for the delay

if the delay is confirmed

Oh so it does - the giant version surged off my feeble little screen and I couldn't see the far right corner.

As for those hooks: Besides Trouble, you don't find that snakey little "nowhere" riff from Amnesia sticking in your brain?
It's a bit of a contradiction in terms, but ...well, there it is.

(I do agree with your general assertion that journalists often misuse terms like riff and hook.)

so what is the prediction for the final song to be released this coming Monday?
Georgelicks posted some remark a couple of weeks back that HEARTSTOPPER would be the key to sell this album. So im hoping this is unleashed on the world on 7th of September. We are now less than 2 weeks away.
