Sure. But satisfaction doesn't sound like jumpin jack flash , substantial damage sounds like the middle riff from if you can't rock me

Rhythmically, as well as the "da-da"-intro notes, the riffs are very similar.

I am enjoying some of these new songs, but on a hugely anticipated new album from our beloved Keith I didn't expect to hear some stones riffs being major parts of his new songs. In " trouble " the first thing I heard was the cyhmk riff, it's buried but it's there. Maybe jagger can sue Richards on behalf of the jagger/Richards songwriting team, And get a credit, much like kd Lang received a credit for has any body seen my baby. So the credits for trouble and substantial damage could read "jagger/Richards/Jordan/Richards". I am assuming Steve Jordan was a co writer. I am amusing myself here in Australia at 1 am

It's Keef unlock day. What time do the web guys wake up ?

Last week it was 5PM British time, which may well be 9AM in NYC
I hope the fact that it's a holiday in the US doesn't stop them

A US holiday doesn't bode too well, given their record to date, but we can still hope.

5PM BT is more like 11AM in NYC ... but I hope that's not where the people in charge of this are.

The point is that they are all relatives of each other, some are backwards, some not.

You know, everyone has a relative who seems backwards, but is still a great person. smoking smiley

Very true. They are all relatives of each other. I love the stones so much I think I am hearing their riffs everywhere . As I get older my IQ is going backwards along with my hearing.

Do you really think Mick wrote those riffs?

Mick had absolutely nothing to do with those riffs.
I think what Anitapal82 is saying is that because Mick is part of the 'Jagger/Richards' songwriting credits, he owns equal part of them.
Hogwash I say!

No I don't think he wrote the riffs, but he received a credit for the songs and as such could have an interest in the use of said song in another song. Just saying . It's all a bit of fun really

I think we are all glad Keith didn't take any riffs from off " primitive cool" or "dogshit in the doorway"

One of ours who was staking out Edith Grove has gone silent, which hopefully means that he's dashed off to Fitzrovia. Watch this space...

Am I the only one who thinks this plaque game would be more fun if they didn't give the exact address out? Make people do a little Keith research and provide clues instead of the actual answer? They could have done something like provide a clue a day until someone got it right. I think more people would be participating at some level if they did. As it is it's just a silly game for the few people who live in the area and are willing to drive to a given address.

I had my doubts how this would sound, but Wow - the best sincerest reggae to ever come from the Stones world imo.
Might have to pre-order from Best Buy to get the Love Overdue 'bonus track' which I assume to be an extended/dub Lee Perry version.

Thanks Keith, now excuse me while I light my spliff! smoking smiley

Agreed but I still think the actual game would have been more fun if more people participated..Knowing your considerable skills at solving Stones puzzles I bet you would have been one of them! smiling smiley

Ok listened to the track twice. The song has a decent reggae groove with elements of Mexican music with those horn lines. The singing is good for Keith. A bit abrupt breakdown in the middle. Overall a nice little ditty but not one I'm likely to be putting on a playlist or excitedly sharing with my friends. I'm getting the feeling this record is best taken as a whole, when one is in the mood for a dose of Keith.

The breakdown is classic for reggae and dub. Nice to hear Keith doing it. The horns sound Caribbean to me. Great, great track thumbs up
