How? People either like the record or they don't.
Ive heard 5 songs, and 2 are good, 1 is ok, & 2 are terrible.
Just my opinion

What a good interview - so different from the usual stuff

Billboard's was the best piece yet.
As for the Norwegian review, a few things:
* The writer does a good job of sounding wised-up and flippant (an unfortunately requisite professional aptitude in the era of internet-journalism);
* Norah Jones's contribution to "Illusion" is modest and understated; it's hard to believe anyone thinks she makes or breaks the song;
* The suggestion that Steve Jordan tries to play like anyone besides Steve Jordan is absurd; and
* There's no f*cking reggae on "Talk Is Cheap."

I asked him about what he thought was reggae on Talk Is Cheap. His answer:
«It's in the ear of the beholder. I get a sweet, grooving reggae-rock-feel everytime I listen to Rockawhile».
I also told him that I found quite a number of infecteous melodies on CH (Suspicious, Nothing On Me, Robbed Blind, Lover's Plea, Something For Nothing etc.). Now «hardly a melody» has disappeared from the review heading

Agree that this interview is a cut above the rest. AND the possibility of some small gigs is again mentioned! So let's all hope it comes to pass.

“The Grateful Dead is where everybody got it wrong,” he scoffs. “Just poodling about for hours and hours. Jerry Garcia, boring shit, man. Sorry, Jerry.”
Hahaha - Sgt Peppers, Black Sabbath, Rap, and now the Grateful Dead.
Looking forward to what's next on Keith's shit list.

nice!
sounds like he would have been a interesting contributor to the debate about what is reggae lol. rockawhile is about as reggae as mary had a little lamb.

Keith probably quit listening to contemporary music some time in the late 70's, it's hard to take anything he says about other artists after that point very seriously. I can only imagine the last Dead record or live show Keith actually listened to was Working Mans Dead. lol

I actually agree with Keith on what music he thinks is crap these days, and so do a lot of people i know
Why do you always assume you know Keith well enough to know what music he listens too.
Its really bugging me
Stop imagining you know the last Grateful Dead CD Keith listened to etc
I like your posts until you get on the subject of Keith, you refer to him like he is an old fool, stuck in the past
Nothing so far about this new album is embarrassingly old in style, out of date or past it. My teenage sons like it and they are very critical of ''old music''
Like myself, Keith probably figured out years ago that most contemporary music these days is not for most music lovers
The industry is pitiful these days, but there is so much fantastic music out there, but not on radio 1 or the chart show or whatever equivalent you have in the US
Naturalust, do you think we should all get into music made for teeny boppers to have more credibility lol
