Matt Lee, you did the deed your own self?! Thanks & praises! :E

Absolutely... Google maps and a fine British sporting machine.

I hope you felt like Bond - James Bond - at the very least! Thanks and praises again! :E

Meanwhile a few morning listens ... my my my, who is Keith so mad at -
could it be someone from the neighbourhood of the plaque?

Buy the album on vinyl and play it in one sitting - I've gone back to that style of listening and now find I look at albums in a new light.

I still think ABB is trash though !

His daughters?

No, I wasn't thinking of Angela, Dandelion!
(She's the only daughter of Keith's who was raised in Dartford,
but not in the neighbourhood of that second plaque.)

I too always listen to albums in their entirety, but since these are being released to us one by one
it's more or less an invitation to react to them as stand-alones.
If these are very different from the impression the album as a whole makes,
that seems like a rather odd marketing choice - but what do I know about marketing

Er ... which of his daughters was born in Dartford??

Did he say in the lyrics that he was mad at anyone from Dartford?

The «attached to your ear...»-line lead me to believe that dad/grandpa Keith was protective and angry at his daughter.

But I probably haven't picked up all his mumbling in Substantial Damage yet smiling smiley

Let me try again (I've edited my post up above, by the way! As usual :E).

1] Why this angry-sounding track for this plaque?
2] Someone who is often seen with an in-ear monitor lived right near this second plaque in early childhood.
3] If you can't rock me ... I'll put funky angry experiments on my solo album? :E

I haven't deciphered many of the lyrics either but that "mon plaisir [... that's] French" amused me.

It's funny, funky and out there, and I'm not feeling like I need to wonder "what it could have been if".
In the '80s Keith said solo albums should be things one wouldn't do with the Stones; this one might fall into that category.

Is Keith playing bass on Substantial Damage?

Good day, figured I asked this question above again. Funny one of Keith's riffs briefly remind me of Led Zepplin's The Ocean. Once again cool song.

My understanding is that Keith plays bass on every track on this album, no?

I have Chris Koenig to thank for the motivation.... he titled an email "Matt Lee you are on assignment" while I was still at work in London Bridge. The title got my attention but when I read the message I thought, no way, someone will have done it by the time I get there, so I carried on working. By the time I was finishing work the track still hadn't been unlocked and googles travel time estimate had now dropped below 40 minutes.

Then as I actually left the office, google said it would only take 32 minutes. I was tempted. I checked again and the world was still waiting. I thought bugger it, I never shy away from a Stones related adventure so I jumped in the car. In my mind I was still going to be beaten but worst case I was likely to end up meeting someone who shares the same passion. What was the downside.

I shaved google by 4 minutes taking the racing line on some deserted roundabouts, causing my satnav to change orientation as the car leaned like a yacht on the high sea. Pulling up there were a couple of smokers outside the pub almost opposite but the street was otherwise deserted.

Logging back into the site the track was still unlocked, I couldn't believe it. My heart was now racing, reading the plaque I read "Sustance1" as that made a lot more sense than "Substant1", plus it was dark, and I'm dyslexic. I had to fiddle with my location services to allow the map point to turn gold and then I typed in "Substance1" rejection :-( Checking the plaque again, I realised my error and quickly tried again! Boom, I was in and Substantial Damage started playing. It was an amazing feeling to have released the music to the world and to be listening to it first.

"Your destination is on the right" - OMG, No! The moment was ruined by the navigation voice who would not shut up! Fumbling around in an attempt to turn off the sat nav I closed down my private world premiere of Substantial Damage live from rainy Dartford England. Gutted!

Luckily my self restraint prevented me for inflicting substantial damage on my phone and I returned to the shelter of the car and calmly enjoyed the track while looking at the plaque. Just time for a quick selfie with the plaque and it was back in the car with a big smile on my face to get home.

Mission accomplished, I could return the car safely to Q branch.

Yes, I like it. No, it doesn't have the traditional song structure. Do we really think he forgot that pop songs have a chorus and a bridge? Is it lazy? Maybe, but maybe he liked the sonic landscape better this way. Maybe he looks at it as a journey, instead of a loop...

Always one to be controversial. That's me lol. But is this what I wanted or expected from Keith. Well in the light of day it seems kind of strange. These last 2 tracks are great and all that but I find myself feeling short changed. This is a bit like Micks 80s mid life crises coming very late for keith. As I say its good but its not what I crave from his Royal Keefness. I'm sure the rest of the album will deliver my Keith fix.

Meanwhile, this just in from the app designers, responding very promptly to my email to them:

"Hi,
Thanks for your mail, and for letting us know of your/others frustration.
I've forwarded your comments on to the team running the campaign for a proper response.
Meanwhile hopefully it's reassuring to let you know that, to our knowledge,
the rest of the plaques should be revealed as planned!"

"Just got the following back from the team:
‘Due to an unforeseen illness to a member of the Cross Eyed Heart Plaque campaign team,
the second plaque location was revealed later than planned.
The next and final two plaque locations will be revealed, as planned, on Monday 31st of August and Monday 7th September.
Apologies to the fans left waiting, we’re glad you’re all enjoying the campaign!’

Matt Lee, my correspondent also said he enjoyed your thrilling report very much indeed.
