The warm-up is now on Wednesday 30th, but not at the Half Moon Putney (venue had to change because Ronnie leaked it).

Satisfied since 1976

Tempted to go.

Are you going, Phil?

Nah. It'll end up costing too much for what it is and my fav hotel near by is booked up.

Not even if Charlie Watts is showing up? grinning smiley

Charlie isn't playing

Satisfied since 1976

Is it dead certain that Charlie won't be there?

Ronnie mentioned in the interview with Planet Rock Radio that Charlie would be at RAH earlier that day, and was hopeful that he'd stick around.

But then Ronnie also talked about getting Pino Palladino to play bass. Wrinkle in that plan is Pino's touring with Nine Inch Nails.

Update to my post re. spare ticket: Half Price: MUST SELL BY FRIDAY 25th if at all.

I am going to be on holiday with friends on November 1st and can't go. Would anyone like to buy a £60 single ticket right at the stage end of the second tier (i.e. looking across the stage from above on the right)? I also have a £10 car park voucher for the Imperial College car park which I'll throw in for free if you want it. My email is in my profile.

Not a brilliant ticket but it will get you in - complete package now £30.

NOTE: I will be away and out of email contact from Saturday 26th, so if anyone wants this ticket please contact me by Friday 25th at the latest or it will go to waste.

Are we arranging a place for pre drinks? Could be a merry one as the gig doesn't start until 10pm! I don't know the area at all, anyone have some suggestions?

Bobby Womack says he'll be joining Ronnie next week:

‘Ronnie Wood asked if I’d stay and do a couple of songs with him; I’ve never asked him a favour and had him let me down."

I don't expect him to do anything else than Jimmy Reed songs.

Ronnie and MT talked up wunderkind Dexter Hercules on The Danny Baker Show today, but perhaps the addition of D, as well as the previously announced B, will prompt an appearance by C.

Afraid not, so I was told.

What pub you going to beforehand? Queens Arms is nearest although others on Ken High St might be better. I get into London around 3 pm I think and am aiming to be in the vicinity (i.e. a pub) around 4.30/5.00 or so. I'm going to the MH/VM gig beforehand as well.

Stones star Ronnie Wood takes Mick Jagger’s harmonica duties at Albert Hall

When the Rolling Stones play the blues on stage it is Mick Jagger who has the harmonica.

But Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood will demonstrate his own skill on the instrument when he and Mick Taylor — who he replaced in the band in 1975 — perform together in a tribute concert to the American blues musician Jimmy Reed.

Wood, 66, is even learning how to play harmonica with the type of harness used by his hero Reed, who died aged 50 in 1976.

“He is overlooked, he’s not a household name. Doing this concert I’m hoping it will be a bit educational — for us and the audience. I’m going to try to get the songs as authentic as possible,” he said. Bobby Womack and Mick Hucknall will also play in the grand finale of the London BluesFest at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday.

Taylor, 64, said: “It’s great to hear Ronnie play the harmonica. We’re having a lot of fun.”
