So good to see Mick playing at class venues like RAH and Hyde Park and Glastonbury.
He probably likes the small places as well, but he's at a Blues Fest, playing the blues which he first made his name with in The Bluesbreakers.
Good luck and best wishes to the guy. He deserves it. winking smiley

Minute 1:40 is where Ronnie comes in on this:

.....Bluesfest taking place at Royal Albert Hall 10/29 - 11/1/13. There is music on all day every day....

On Fri 11/1/13 pm ......is Ronnie Wood's band, His band are doing a tribute to Jimmy Reed. Jimmy Weed. Jimmy Read

So Ronnie and his band which includes Mick Taylor, will be doing tunes by Jimmy Reed. ...one of the original blues singers....influenced Elvis....

Q: Why Jimmy Reed?

RW: He made an album I thought he was a treasure trove maybe for the kids to discover and older people to rediscover. It got a bit of a stamp on it. This guy did 30 knowable songs.

Bright Lights Big City
I Ain't Got You
etc.

Q: Who's in the group then?

RW: well my old sparring partner Mick Taylor, he loves to do a challenge and I got a drummer Dexter Hercules I found him in a arts club playing in a soul band. And for bass hopefully Pino Palladino..the element of spontaneity with Jimmy's music is probably quite laughable because he was always drunk and his wife Mama Reed was always throwing him the harmonies and reminding him of the words and he was always being propped up by his wife so that's the kind of guy I like to follow..."

mention of rehearsals maybe in February for stones while the wheels are still turning. or something like that.

Not familiar with Dexter's music, but Pino has played with many of the greats including The Who.

Ronnie Wood To Play Intimate Show In Putney?

Steven Aston
10 October, 2013

Ronnie tonight hinted to Gigslutz that he could be set to play an intimate show back in familiar territory over the next few weeks.

The Ronnie Wood Band (not that band) have been confirmed to close the 2013 BluesFest on 1st November with a tribute to Jimmy Reed at The Royal Albert Hall.

It now appears Ronnie is lining up a warm up show on his West London home turf. At a private event in Barcelona this evening Gigslutz’ own David Ham got chatting to the legend himself.

Whilst chewing the fat over their favourite London small venues Mr Ham brought up The Half Moon in Putney. Ronnie’s response to this was

“I might be playing a gig there in a few weeks pre BluesFest”

So there you have it. Keep your eyes peeled for that one. For more information about BluesFest please click here and to get tickets click here

Ronnie said about the BlesFest show “Jimmy Reed was one of the premier influences on the Rolling Stones and all the bands that love American blues from that era until the present day. It is my honour to have the opportunity to celebrate his life and legacy with this tribute.”

Maybe a warm-up and some shows afterwards in NYC.

Somebody needs to tell Ronnie that Pino Palladino is touring with Nine Inch Nails.

He's struggling to find a bassist by the looks of it, I bet he thought Bill would enjoy the gig and be free to do it but he's playing Stoke with the RKs that night.

Ronnie mentioned Willie Weeks being with Clapton, who does have a couple of shows scheduled in November - without Willie Weeks.

Shaping up as something of a Boogie For Stu reunion. Would think there's a good chance Mick Hucknall will stick around after his Bobby Bland tribute with Van Morrison.

Ronnie has said Charlie will be at RAH too. Perhaps he's part of the "all star" band for the Bland show.

I am now going to be on holiday with friends that week and can't go. Would anyone like to buy a £60 single ticket right at the stage end of the second tier (i.e. looking across the stage from above on the right)? I also have a £10 car park voucher for the Imperial College car park which I'll throw in for free if you want it.

Not a brilliant ticket but it will get you in - complete package for £50 so the ticket isn't wasted. My email is in my profile.

Far from sold out it seems - the previous show (Van Morrison) has a sold out arena (floor) area.

I will be in a hotel 500 meters from the RAH. Travelling with my daughter this time so if there is a "pre show" I may pass and say hello...
