All these archives that are available now for cheap are @#$%& cool !
There's just one thing I still don't get, why does the Stones didn't do it, themselves ???
I mean it should not be that hard to find an agreement to create an official RS digital downloads company that allow all of us to get them in LOSSLESS format !
C'mon boys forget Itune$, earn your own $ with your live stuff.

So, if it's only available for 4 weeks, is it still an
official release? Temporary official release?

IMO it's a big mistake to put the Midnight of Hyde Park #1. The second Midnight was one of the best of the tour.
Same for Gimme Shelter, it is a mistake to choose the GS of the second show because it was better in the first show!!!
Anyway, it's sound great, I am very happy to have it on my iPod now

Strange indeed. My guess is that in a couple of weeks a CD or DVD will come out (it will take a couple of weeks to produce them) and they want to make use of the current hype and make us buy (and pay) twice.

it came to me in m4a "The M4A file type is primarily associated with 'MPEG-4 Audio Layer'. Files in .M4A format are actually the audio layer of (non-video) MPEG 4 movies. M4A is slated to become the new standard for audio file compression. This format is also known as Apple Lossless, Apple Lossless Encoder, or ALE. It is a new codec designed to provide lossless encoding in less storage space." (http://filext.com/file-extension/M4A)

I'm burning a disc up to Miss You on one, than the rest and bonus tracks
from MSG to cruise in truck with. Summertime cruisin' heaven.

And it´s not mp3 (to all the skeptical fans). It´s m4a, a superior format.
The album is 250 MB. A normal mp3 would be round 125 for an album like this

There are two types of m4a files : AAC which is compressed music files, ie the same as mp3 ; and Alac (Apple lossless) which is the same as Flac. Until now ITunes is selling only AAC files, ie lossy music files.

Actually it depends on the level of compression. For example Google Music is selling 320kb/s MP3 when iTunes is selling 256kb/s AAC. The same album on Google Music would be most likely a bit larger in MB...
By the way a CD quality file (aka FLAC) is usually between 800kb/s and 1000kb/s in quality. With an AAC file (what iTunes is selling you) you get only about 1/4 of a CD quality file.
Imagine if in the seventies the Stones had decided all of a sudden to release their albums only on cassettes. I bet a lot of people would have complained about it.
