Sounds good through my HiFi. Maybe this is just a prelude to the full release cash in on the Glastonbury effect. Release box set late in year after a leg of European shows

All these archives that are available now for cheap are @#$%& cool !
There's just one thing I still don't get, why does the Stones didn't do it, themselves ???
I mean it should not be that hard to find an agreement to create an official RS digital downloads company that allow all of us to get them in LOSSLESS format !

C'mon boys forget Itune$, earn your own $ with your live stuff.

So, if it's only available for 4 weeks, is it still an
official release? Temporary official release?

Strange indeed. My guess is that in a couple of weeks a CD or DVD will come out (it will take a couple of weeks to produce them) and they want to make use of the current hype and make us buy (and pay) twice.

IMO it's a big mistake to put the Midnight of Hyde Park #1. The second Midnight was one of the best of the tour.

Same for Gimme Shelter, it is a mistake to choose the GS of the second show because it was better in the first show!!!

Anyway, it's sound great, I am very happy to have it on my iPod now smiling smiley

Strange, I would say exactly the reverse for MR. The best ever version I have seen was at Hyde Park #1. Didn't really take in GS from HP #1 as I was still getting over the brilliance of the previous song, MR. Paid more attention at HP#2 and thought GS was excellent.

My guess too. I bet there will be a CD out in September.

If that's the case it will be package deal with a cd and DVD.

It sounds fantastic. And, as mentioned all the archives shows on Google music
sound way better than my old boots. If this sells o,k maybe a chance for some new stuff, like an ep. rather than an album with too many songs not all
great. And too much time face to face in the studio. I'll take what I can get.

And it´s not mp3 (to all the skeptical fans). It´s m4a, a superior format.

The album is 250 MB. A normal mp3 would be round 125 for an album like this thumbs up

it came to me in m4a "The M4A file type is primarily associated with 'MPEG-4 Audio Layer'. Files in .M4A format are actually the audio layer of (non-video) MPEG 4 movies. M4A is slated to become the new standard for audio file compression. This format is also known as Apple Lossless, Apple Lossless Encoder, or ALE. It is a new codec designed to provide lossless encoding in less storage space." (http://filext.com/file-extension/M4A)

There are two types of m4a files : AAC which is compressed music files, ie the same as mp3 ; and Alac (Apple lossless) which is the same as Flac. Until now ITunes is selling only AAC files, ie lossy music files.

Well, I keep bemoaning that the Stonesarchive gigs never come out on CD, though I wish they would with some nice liner notes. So, I wouldn't hold your breath concerning the new live album. Apples have more chances of appearing on ivy trees.

I'm burning a disc up to Miss You on one, than the rest and bonus tracks
from MSG to cruise in truck with. Summertime cruisin' heaven.

Actually it depends on the level of compression. For example Google Music is selling 320kb/s MP3 when iTunes is selling 256kb/s AAC. The same album on Google Music would be most likely a bit larger in MB...

By the way a CD quality file (aka FLAC) is usually between 800kb/s and 1000kb/s in quality. With an AAC file (what iTunes is selling you) you get only about 1/4 of a CD quality file.

Imagine if in the seventies the Stones had decided all of a sudden to release their albums only on cassettes. I bet a lot of people would have complained about it.

Have just listened through it once now. It`s really good!! cool smiley I do especially like ER, great bass!! And over all a good mix with nice sounding guitars and good sound...

I am glad this came out, but beeing old fashioned I hope for a cd so I can read the cover while listening to it and then put it back to my Stonescollection... smiling smiley

I only just saw this, thanks for the heads-up--it's now downloaded and stuffed into my iPod for later listening. I guess the problems people in the US had in finding it got fixed. What makes it "limited edition," as it's labeled, though? I mean, anyone can download it, it's just limited in time.

It seems like I might be one of the few IORRians who is really excited about this release. I was at the second show and what a momento this album is. The production is fine - and the timing couldn't be better. Way to go!!

Nice little surprise to come home to after a crappy day at work. I'm sort of skipping around, I've listened to ER, MR and SFM and I'm enjoying it.

Past couple of years have been very active for the Stones.
Documentaries, out takes, new songs, Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor, surprise gigs in clubs, New tour, Glastonbury, Hydepark and now a live album.
No complains here!
