They're planning the tour and hopefully a world tour for 2014 now. So they have to announce the first dates soon. Last tour was announced 1 month before start and it was too little time to sell out the high priced tickets. So I expect the tour announcement in January or February. Or even in late December.

last week another mate spent day with Daryl Jones in Sydney...sent me this message :

Been with Darryl jones all day. Yes they are touring but he hasn't been told any details

I think the equation is: rumour + rumour = even more rumours. Or mathematically: r+r=r²!

Thanks for the info. Now we all know what you expect. May I humbly ask you what is your soure of the information that "They're planning the tour and hopefully a world tour for 2014 now"?

Seriously, I haven't been contributing to this forum very much lately, it is just that whenever I open it, all those posts where people who know absolutely nothing claim they have a feeling or hope, or and insider told them...those posts just jump on me and I don't feel like browsing here any more.

Just like this other thread about the Australian dates. Yes, Darryl Jones told a fan that it was "on". That it was "confirmed." Even the ticket prices. Sure.

In my mailbox I have a spam folder for e-mails of this kind, so that I am not bothered even opening them.

This place used to be a great source of information with a lot of great people sharing sometimes unbelievable amount of knowledge and really nice thoughts and analysis. And they still do, at least some of them, but in the last year or two it was taken over by freaks who need to write everything that pops out inside their head, probably feeling good that they are getting attention.

I understand that there can not be any spam folder here, I know that going through all those threads and deleting all those irrelevant posts would be a full-time job for bv, which is a nonsence. So there is really no way out of it. And so I am just getting out my frustration...

Happy24, I know what you mean and I recognize the feeling. Just don't let it get to you too much. There are still several good sources on this board, who really know what they are talking about. Although you have to read between the lines sometimes.

That would make sense. Darryl would know that he's 'on call' for a tour in a rough time frame, but he wouldnt know specific dates or anything more.

After a full day with Darryl your friend gets only that? Who cares about the tour? Ask him about the scarf, Ronnie's hair, where Keith has lunch - things that really matter!

The new tour dates will be come right after 18th December this year. I hope so!

Live Nation Finland tells in Facebook it has "big announcements" coming tomorrow, but I doubt it has anything to do with the Stones (yet...).

He is a journo who was there for Daisies rehearsals.
He told me Daryl was friendly, chatty, that DG and OMS were the only new tracks recorded, but there are a heap of Bang leftover tracks.

FWIW I spoke to a promoter in Sydney, who would know, and he said 'it's on, tho nothing is signed'
So I guess it's at least getting shopped.

The other 'strong rumour' came from a 'connected' guy who claimed 3 shows confirmed for March, with ticketing prices.
48 hrs later he was on radio saying he 'heard a rumour from inside the band...'


Adding legs to the Aussie talk is that Andrew Loog Oldham was reported to have stated as fact that the Stones will play Argentina in Feb.
Last run they went Sth America, Australia.

Maybe....just maybe....the planets are aligning.

I can't help thinking of all those people outside the Cutting Room last Saturday night who knew for an absolute solid fact that Keith was going to be there that night, they had absolutely cast-iron take-it-to-the-bank information, and they had told all their friends, hence the brief mob scene outside. Nobody had the slightest doubt he would be there, his manager was there, his guitar tech was there, there was a vocal and guitar mic all set up for a Third Person.
