The overall impression you get with those high ticket prices is: They don't really want to tour and the only thing convincing them to do so is more money. Money is their only motivator these days.

Today on Sirius radio 's Underground Garage Andrew Loog Oldham talked about the rolling stones and latin america, 2 subjects he knows well. At one point he mentioned that the Stones are going to play in Argentina in february 2014. He didn't elaborate on it, just said it as a matter of fact.

The speculation seems to grow more and more fanciful in light of no new info. I know, I do it too.

Fact: There never was a plan to record another album.
Fact: They were touring sold out venues.
Fact: You don't stop touring sold out venues and that kind of financial success in exchange for trying to start recording an album with someone who hasn't produced anything for years and years and probably would just come up with ballad #9.
Fact: Not one record company asked them to do that (just a couple of weirdo's on IORR including yours truly who would like to see it happen just for the chance MT could be involved ).
Fact: There is no plausible explanation to stop touring/not continue touring for a ten month break just at the moment you're finally playing very well again at the age of 70 after weeks and weeks of rehearsing and touring...
Fact: When bands are touring with that crazy financial success they absolutely get very good offers to continue in other countries.
Fact: They decided not to do that and that's highly unusual... Only thing I can come up with is 'hey Mick I'll try something with Steve first so when that works I'll give you a call' But that's not the explanation for not continue to tour...

Although I agree with some of them, none of those "facts" are actually facts, not even the part about them playing sold-out venues.

Frontier Touring boss Michael Gudinski was talking up the Stones recent live shows in the Herald Sun yesterday.

It's unusual for him to be talking about bands that he's not working with, so the Melbourne rumours may have some truth!

Here's what I KNOW, and I mean know.

The Stones will perform live, again and again.

They'll keep doing it until like many old bluesman have already, die.
