Two songs! Great news.... the real goal is to have MT sit-in for the whole concert. Why should he be treated as a guest?

I want to see on Satisfaction if they traded leads or just pandered to MT again. I hope the Stones embrace the 3 guitar attack. Let MT step back and let Ronnie and Keith work it too. Why does everything have to be a nostalgia solo for MT. Make him part of the band.

He is treated as a guest because he's not in the band confused smiley

There's a quintessential difference between a guest and a special guest, i.e. a former band member. Imagine Brian was still alive and also part of the game. Would we call him a guest then? Of course not, but a very special guest, and most of all: A Rolling Stone. Once a Stone, forever a Stone. Never just a guest. The same goes for Bill and MT of course.

He is a special guest today, hence two songs. Would have been the same with Brian of course.

this is like a seinfeld sketch where they make up rules for things that don't really matter.

It's clear from the songs Taylor has been allowed to play on that for whatever reasons they are comfortable (barely) with him playing in a "jam" situation but not where he would be more integrated into a song like Sway, Time Waits For No One, etc. which requires more rehearsal. Not sure of the reasons for that.

Er, Doxa. What about Billy?

Preston never was their "musical director", now was he? In terms of giving clues how the old songs went like, where the changes go, etc. At thet time, they didn't need any otsider consultion like that, but played more or less from and by heart. That's why we got so called "road versions" of the songs. The guys needed themselves to figure out "what we will do with this one?". How to deliver it? Learning by doing, in many cases.

It's Keith's guitar that sounds dangerous. Taylor brings melody.

Bullshit. Taylor never plays safely. It is in his artistic institution. That's why he is a wild card these days, and the band - I can understand - is having trouble how to "fit" him in.

Exclude me, Mick Taylor is a guest(one of the best) and playing on one long song and maby the best song ever is terrific. No one should overstay his welcome plus i like Christmas to be once a year(preferably in February).
So one song is just perfect.
And last but not at least Thank you Mr. Jagger, Mr. Richards, Mr. Watts,
Mr. Wood, Mr. Taylor, Mr. Wyman, late Mr. Jones.

I think if MT was to do two or three MT songs in the middle of the concert...like MR, CHYMK, Sway, LIV....and then be on for all the encores, that would be more than fair.

Really amuses me how little was said about Mick Taylor for a long time on IORR.
And Now? Can we keep it to one thread, please. Would be nice to hear concrete feelings from MT new fans...like the under 30's.

It would be nicer if MT himself would weigh in here. Mick...?

I just realized I said "Mick Taylor" and "weigh in". Oh boy...
